What new years resolution have you made this year.

I have promised myself I will loose weight and take my family to Disney. I Know will be going to see the mouse but I hope I can loose the weight.

We leave on the 13th of March ( 10 weeks from now). Is it too much to expect to loose 20 pounds by then. What are your thoughts ? :) :yay:

Happy new year, pkitty! :goodvibes

My goal is to lose some weight too - I wish us both determination and patience! :woohoo: I think 20lbs in 10 weeks is doable with great eating habits and regular frequent exercise - you can do it!!!

Have a wonderful time on your vacation! :thumbsup2

:flower3: I'm with you!! We are at 80 :woohoo: days to go and I want to lose 10-15 lbs and honestly I want to get back walking again - starting tomorrow!! I love Walk away the pounds and I think I will break the miles down as walking around the MK or Epcot lol.

I'll post back tomorrow to tell you if I walked or not.:yay:

NY ressie is to lose 25 lbs by June 1. I know I couldn't do 20lbs in 10 weeks, so you go! I'm aiming for 5 lbs month, I know I can handle -500 cals/day and 2 good workouts per week = 1.25 lbs /week.

Been doing pretty good so far, Day 4 (yup, started Dec. 31st, just to be different).

Also want to get to Disney 2009, some way, some how. Good luck for 2009!

p.s. my photo here, be it only a year old, is prior to the 25 lb weight gain. Don't ask what happened. :headache:

This is part of it....:happytv: and popcorn:: and :scared1: (stress!)

Hi. We leave for Disney on March 5 and I also would love to lose some weight to go, I want to find a dress for the wedding in Florida too. Just to figure out why my manual treadmill's belt keeps shifting. DD 20 is also getting married this year Aug 1, so another reason to get some weight off.
DH just went to find boxes because today I am starting to purge this house so I can get organized and not leaving things to the last minute/day to be done.

Maybe this soundss impossible, but I would like to live a NO STRESS year all around.:thumbsup2

Happy New Year!

I've thought long and hard about my resolutions this year. Of course there are the standard lose weight, get in shap and eat better. This year I've added to be more finacially aware. That some things need to be put aside so that other things can be accomplished. Also I've decided that I need to be a more patient mom. With two boys 8 and almost 6 it sometime hard but I know it can be done.

With the weightloss though it might be tough as I am going through some medical things and treatment may cause me to gain weight. Not good considering as of today I am down 15 lbs since the middle of Sept. I only have 20 lbs to reach my first major goal!

I did my one mile walk w/ Leslie Sansone yesterday - would not let myself log on to :surfweb: Dis until I walked! :rotfl: It worked as I need my DIS fix.

Good luck everyone!!BellyBaby your picture is gorgeous!

Awww, thanks Daisy! It's my "before" picture I'm striving to hit again. I lost weight for Disney, need to do it again for ME.

I too am on the lose weight resolution. I had 35 lbs to go for our end of Aug trip but I joined WW last week, yes before New Years, and lost 5 lbs my first week, so only 30 left to go!!!!
Maybe we should start a Cdn weight loss thread?
My other resolution is to become more organized.

Oprah's Best Life week is going to include weight loss, and organizing.

A good website is flylady.net as well.

yes SandraC started a Canadian weight loss thread for us!! maybe this will help restart it?

I also went back to WW last week. There were like 5 people at my meeting. They said this week, it'll be packed!!

My resolutions this year are to:

- Make improvements nutritionally and eat clean
- Continue running, so that I'll actually lose weight instead of just maintaining :headache:
- Stop buying things I want and stick to things I need.

I believe it... When I first started working in an office, three years ago. I gained about that much in the first year. Too much eating out and not enough exercise. And why do so many people have candy dishes on their desks? :confused3  Btw, I think you look fabulous in that photo!

I have heard good things about flylady.net. It is my resolution to become more organized, and I am hoping that will alleviate some of my stress :goodvibes

I also want to become more active (hopefully losing a little weight along the way). Has anybody tried Wii fit?

I think the Wii Fit is fun as a game and will get you off your seat... in terms of it being a good workout - you're better off going to the gym and working with a live personal trainer. That's just IMO - I have both :)

Unfortunately, I know this all too well. I was just hoping that somebody would say that the Wii fit would solve all my problems without ever having to leave the comfort of my home ;) ;)

I think that if I am serious about my New Year's Resolution, getting to the gym is exactly what I need to do. I just have to get over my fear of what I look like in workout gear  (and I'm not even talking about anything remotely tight fitting).

I think if you Google Wii Fit, you will definitely find people that have lost weight using it. For me, I was never able to get into some of the exercises on the Wii Fit because I'd always have to stop, pick up the remote and start the next exercise manually. There isn't anything that lets you do a group of exercises.

Don't worry about what you look like now - just think of what you'll eventually look like. There are very few people at my gym who are super fit and slim :) The way I look at it, everyone has to start somewhere! Just make sure you get clothing that's moisture wicking ... cotton can be a killer.

Thank you for all your great advice :thumbsup2 Now I just have to act on it. There are 3 gyms close to our house, I will start checking these out tomorrow. There is also a gym in our area that sends trainers to your home, I'm going to look into this as well. As for flylady, I'm doing that today! Here's to an organized and fit 2009! :dance3:
