sadly...it ened up being a bust for the most part...He did come home w/ some costume pearl strands for me...which I need to try on still and decide how to use/wear them.

BUT...I took a quick scan through the area Goodwill store yesterday and Matt will head over there later this week to pick up a suit there. One of us will pick up his top hat this week too...so I'll have some pictures of his before coming up soon


I have decided my quest to lose a little weight before the trip is becoming futile that elusive 10 lbs is just so hard to keep off...hoping I can be excersing more regularly once the kids start school (this week) but still to keep me comfy in this dress I need to find someone who can sew a small panel in the back to give me some room....my sil (Matt's sister) has offered to do it...but she smokes and I just don't want to deal w/ potential smoke smell to get out of the dress (sorry if that bothers anyone ) I know I can take it to my cleaners...but was hoping not to pay for it...have to figure that out soon.



Don't have much else to talk about in planning news....am going to work on my F&W cheat sheet today and want to figure out the countdown/family night stuff very soon too!

I laso have been meaning to show you all my awesome new summer flip flops that I bought (awhile ago) w/ thinking these will be my NEW Disney touring shoes and you can tell why by the color...

The third thing I crossed off was making my new DIS-tag!

It’s my Birthday (tomorrow 8-30) and I can party if I want to…

I share my Birthday w/ two very special people in my life: my Dad and my Grandmother (Nana)

Yesterday we had a lovely family get together at our home, we enjoyed talking, grilling, eating and more…Bekah even gave us an impromptu concert as she was trying out a potential new cello (she has moved up into the full size and has two on loan to try out)

When it came time for presents, I received a bunch of scrapping things from my parents and a gift card from them and my bother and sil.

My in-laws gave me money which is always awesome…I may use a portion to renew my D23, get a new pair of shoes and save toward a new camera or use toward my AP renewal….

But my sister cracked me up the most and surprised me w/ a special handmade gift…first the card:

And a homemade bag w/ Mickey motif:

The inside of the card had a crown:

And she also gave me a Disney g/c and made me a special bag to go w/ my dress for MNSSHP:

I made a special gift for my Dad too…for the past 5 years I have taken my Dad to a Cubs game for our Birthdays and decided to make a special scrap layout to frame and give him.

I know you asked in my PTR about DVC, AP etc. discounts. I posted in my PTR, but wanted to post for you here too!

DVC- at DL, you get 10% off at most of the eateries. We used it almost everywhere, sit down and fast food. But at WDW, it is quite different and more limited- there is a 10% off, but only at certain restaurants, mainly at the resorts. There is a 20% at a handful of places for lunch only (Nine Dragons, Chefs and some DTD eateries). TIW is the best deal though of all, if you have an AP, you can qualify to purchase for $75 and save 20% off almost all sit down restaurants with only a couple of exclusions. We have TIW. But that didn't work at DL.

Since tomorrow start September...I figured I would look over my to-do list of what is done and a few things added to it...

OCTOBER Mickey-versary Trip TO-DO List!​

August 2 months to go

* finish any “summer” clothes shopping as needed-DONE!

* start working on costumes- new updates: Matt has purchased a top hat, and i have pearls, my sis is converting the two pearl chockers into a longer necklace that will appear to be 3 strands for me, as well my MIL has taken my dress to begin some alteration on it so I can breathe and be comfortable Matt is still on the hunt for for his clothes

* Start Brainstorming Family Disney nights for countdown and make a 30 day countdown- still need to figure this out

* Sort my Disney box into piles DONE!

* Create a few Disney gift items

*Make new Halloween themed DIS-tag DONE!

* make F&W cheat sheet to put on our touring card (for EP days) when printed DONE!



September 1 Month to go

* Start a 30 day countdown and Family Disney Nights

* Pull suitcases, start packing, make trip shopping list

*Create/Finish any special trip items (trip journal)

* Finish/Put together DIS meet gifts partially done

* look into potential pin order on Ebay (NEW)

* make matching shirts have to decide if we want to do this still (NEW)

* make Mousekeeping and TS dining tip envelopes (NEW)

October weeks to go

* last minute planning: Print itinerary cards, prepare travel binder…

* sort funds and gift cards as applicable (NEW)

* prepare schedule for kids/instructions for Mom, call schools to inform we'll be gone

* talk to kids about souvie wish lists…make a master list put on my phone

* Garden Grocer order

* Special cake order

* Final packing

* get ready to go…

so still MORE to do than DONE...but feel pretty good w/ the list thus far...

As well I have a few special posts coming up as well besides the normal last planning updates...so stay tuned!

Oh Julie...I am SOOO behind and your lists are not helping! Not only am I behind on your PTR but I am behind on my planning. AHHHHH....how did time get away from me?

It looks like you had a wonderful birthday and fun with the family. You received some wonderful items. I love all the scrappy stuff.

Your To-Do List looks daunting....but maybe that's just because I haven't even made my list of things still to do. LOL
