Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone. Stay safe and have a fun and reflective holiday. Thank you to all veterans that have served our country in any capacity. Your service is truly appreciated.

Thought the flag planting was the 28th. It's actually tomorrow, so tomorrow morning I'll be walking a couple of my town's cemeteries with an armful of little American flags. Makes you see the holiday for what it's supposed to be, that's for sure.

Thought the flag planting was the 28th. It's actually tomorrow, so tomorrow morning I'll be walking a couple of my town's cemeteries with an armful of little American flags. Makes you see the holiday for what it's supposed to be, that's for sure.

I try to visit my relatives who have served graves every year around this time. My ancestors fought in the War of 1812, Civil War, WW1 and WW2 (supposedly the American Revolution as well but that's still being investigated), and I feel a great sense of pride for their service. I hope when I put an American flag by their graves, they will know from above how grateful my family and all those who care about our military are for their service and sacrifices.

My dad was a WW II veteran but he didn’t die in the war. I have always thought Memorial Day was for those who died fighting, and Veterans Day for veterans. But everyone is free to celebrate/remember how they want. View from our balcony today -
