Happy Limo

Anyway, I have pretty much given up on ALL the Towncar compainies. QUOTE]

Carol, from reading so many of your previous posts, I really value your opinion. I will be staying off-site (approx. 21 miles from MCO) later this year and therefore, can't use DME. Won't be renting a car due to vision issues, therefore, would really appreciate your input on ANY reputable towncar service since this is our only option (1 senior, 1 adult, 2 children).

Are there any that you would reccommend?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Since FL tours is the sponsor of DIS, I was thinking of booking them. Their price is $65 plus tip for a one-way trip.

Riu, you can feel safe booking with Happy Limo, or with Quick silver Tours. Both are perfectly reputable companies with good customer service records.

Don't be scared by the negative comments you hear about some of the towncar companies. Yes, problems occur once in a while with all of the towncar companies, just as they occur with any business, but the vast majority of towncar customers get good cars and good service.

My thoughts are that with any of them it's kind of like the airlines... you can have a good day or a bad day.

I have read GLOWING reports on all of them and horror stories on all of them LOL! What gets me is not that they occassionally screw up or have a bad day, but what they do when this happens. All of us are human and can and have problems. However, I really can't recall reading one post where the person posted that towncar X was late etc and then bent over backwards to make it right. More often it's a fight to get a refund etc....

My theory is that ANY business that has to use "mandatory" tips is not great. I mean you tip for service right? If it's "mandatory" then, are they just admitting thier service won't be worth the tip? (And if it's "mandatory" just rasie the rate!)

If the shoe fits put it on. If not throw it away. I happen to get tired of negative reports with hearsay evidence. One such report happened 5 years ago and we are still hearing about it.

If you want to report a transportation company, come up with the company name and the name of a driver. Convict them, not the whole transportation system.

CarolA,

It is good to see you back with the negative side of life. You have been off my case for about three weeks. Supposedly you shut me off. What happened. You don't need to quote anything to me as I have read your posts and know you really have it out for transportation. In other words you are biased, heavily.

Guess what we do agree on one thing. That is your tip theory. The 20% they charge you is not a tip but an extra service charge for transporting. Tips or gratuities are given for extra service. I would not hire a vehicle if the tip or gratuity is mandatory.

Hello Everyone,

I am a travel agent and I have a BIG group of 50 people booked with limos through a company called Happy Limo. Has anyone ever heard of them?
Jon

Happy Limo is recommended by mousesavers.com too. They'd never steer you wrong.
Once I emailed Happy Limo when we were taking a cruise from Miami and asked if they could recommend a limo company in that area since I had no idea where to start, there must be 100 companies in that area. They got right back to me the next day and the company that they recommended was perfect. I thought that was really nice of them.

We have used them twice and were very pleased.
The driver even gave us a discount card to use at our grocery stop so we were able to get the sales prices.
Our last return trip we upgraded to a Limo as a surprize for My DD and my 2 Grand Daughters.
Before using Happy Limo we used another service and they were terrible. We were required to pay the full fee for the round trip and then they never showed when it was time to pick us up to take back to the airport.
The CSR at our hotel called them and got a van to get us to the airport just in time.

Gizmo, would you mind telling me the other service you used? I'm looking for a limo company for our DCL cruise in Feb. and want everything to be just right. It's nice to know who not to use. Thanks!

If you were impressed with Happy Limo (previous post) why aren't you using them? :confused3 I looked on their website and they go to Port Carnival $190/rt.

We've always used Tiffany and have had good experiences. 1 slightly annoying/rude issue w/ Fl Tours. I was looking at other companies for SUV/vans and noticed that Happy Limo seems to be the only one (out of 5 that I've checked) that list additional fees of $9 gate charge and a $10 airport surcharge on top of their fee. NObody else seems to add all these extra fees.

We wanted to get a stretch limo since this is our 1st Dis. cruise. :cool1: There will be 6 of us so it has to be either a van or a limo. I always thought I'd go straight to Happy Limo if I ever need one but after discovering the DISboards, I'm finding so many other companies where people got good service too. Happy Limo is the most expensive of the 4 companies I got quotes from. Before taxes they want $384 RT! That's even with a $20 coupon from mousesavers. They have a lot of extra charges and we do need a booster seat so there's another one. The cheapest I found so far is Image Tours & Transportation http://www.image-tours.com/corp.asp I found them from a link on MCO's website but I'm a little leary since no one here has mentioned them. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Go to taxi-mco.com. Check the first page for Luxury car service, SUV's and their drivers. Click on that and there will be a few companies listed there. Click on one of the companies and you will find contact numbers, pictures and information on the drivers.

Not many companies have SUV's because of the town cars. 2007 is supposedly the last year for Lincloln town car as the line is going to be shut down and discontinued. Just read that yesterday in the business news. The SUV will hold 7 or 8 passengers plus a load of luggage, so in the future you may find that will be the way to go.
