Hi Everyone,

We just got back from our Thanksgiving 2009 Trip . . . Thurs to Sun at GF and then a 4 night Disney Cruise. We had a wonderful time:)

After much planning and researching I had to put up a review on the boards.

I was going back and forth with who to use for our transportation from the resort to the port. There were many mixed reviews. So I decided to give Happy Limo a try.

The good experience with Happy Limo:

1. The driver was on time (most important thing)
2. Got us to the port on time (most important thing)
3. The limo was clean and there was a disney movie playing

The bad experience with Happy Limo:

1. THE DRIVER'S ATTITUDE!

The minute he got out of the car he had an attitude, like it was a bother he was taking us and it was like he had a "chip on his shoulder". Ok, I just reminded myself, we all have bad days, it's early, he is here on time, that was the important thing. But then again, I'm paying almost $200 for him to take us on a 45 minute trip, I shouldn't have to deal with someone with an attitude.

So we arrive at the port and we were about a 1/2 hour early. Again, no big deal to us because I wanted to be there early. I knew we'd be there early. He was talking to one of the workers when we pulled up . . . I guess deciding where to pull up and park. So he said YOU NEED TO GET OUT HERE! I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOUR LUGGAGE ON THE CURB SINCE THE GATES AREN'T OPEN YET. My husband simply verified "We need to wait right here?" . . . and the driver with an attitude says "I HAVE ANOTHER PICKUP. I CAN'T STICK AROUND I HAVE NO TIME TO WAIT" Again, my husband did not remotely or expect him to stick around at all ... all he was doing was verifying this was where we have to wait.

So when it was time to tip him my DH gave him $20. The driver walked away looked at what he gave him turned and looked over his shoulde, raised his hands up in the air and then got in the car and drove off. He's lucky he got that!

Just so everyone knows . . . I don't expect someone to bend over backwards for us. I've been in the service business for many years and had to keep a smile on my face for many rude people. It was his whole attitude that was the issue. There is always a way to say the exact same thing to someone, it doesn't need to be said with an attitude.

And it's ashame, my DH is a great tipper. The gentleman that helped us with our luggage from our room at the GF and drove us over to the front entrance was great. Again, he wasn't bending over backwards for us . . . he was very polite and we had a nice conversation with him. I had tipped him $10 when he got to our room, my DH gave him another $10 when we got to the front of the lobby.

Anyways.....just wanted to post this review.

What time was your pick up at GF? I have requested a 9:00am pick up at the WL because I wanted to get to the port early to try and purchasee an upgrade. We've asked for a grocery stop on our way to the port and thought with the stop we would arrive 10:15-10:30.

Was the trip really only about 45 minutes. I don't want to arrive before we can get in the terminal. My gang is already complaining that I'm getting them up too early. If they have to wait to get in at the terminal, I'll never hear the end of it.

Do you know the name of the driver you had? Someone with an "attitude" will not go over well with my DH---and not be a great start to our cruise.

Thanks

Donna

Hi Donna,

Thinking about it it was about an hour. We had a pickup time of 8:15 am. A few minutes for paperwork and packing the limo with our luggage etc. We were there by 9:30 am. The gates opened at 10 am. I have to dig out my papers and see if I can find his name. I'll PM it to you:)

The trip to the port from the WL is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Add the grocery stop 15 - 25 minutes to that time. There is a publix, to the south of the beachline, before you cross over Rt #1 or one in Cocoa Beach about 5 miles past the docks.

You should send them a this post as a letter. It's good for owners/management to know what's going on.

Update: Sent the letter to them on Monday . . . no response as of yet:confused3

I do hope you get a response! I used this company in May and was so pleased with my driver. And I was literally on the site checking rates right before reading this post. I plan to use this company again in June, hopefully I won't get this driver because honestly I don't tip well for rudeness.

I'm using Happy Limo next month for roundtrip transfer from MCO to The Grand. Who was the driver with the bad attitude? If you could PM me that info I would appreciate it. I will then call Happy Limo back and make them notate on my reservation to not give me that driver. Thanks in advance!

We just used HL again for transfers to Hard Rock Hotel from MCO. All was well. Prompt both ways. They picked us up in their minibus. Not what we ordered but it was nice to see it since that's what we booked for our group of 19 to take us to PC for our next cruise.:goodvibes
