He is risen indeed! Happy Easter to all - how do you plan to celebrate?

We're in a season of life where no tradition stands; we play it by ear and accommodate everyone else's plans as best we can. Today we'll go to a joyfully raucous service at church at 11:00 (we usually go at 9:00) and then straight to a fancy brunch in a hotel ballroom with friends. Never done that before! This evening we're invited to feast with another group of friends; that's also off-the-norm because we usually host. I decorated the Easter table last night anyway, and about 1/2 of the treats have already been mowed down but I may just scarf a few for breakfast before anyone else gets up. :goodvibes

There's a lightness in my spirit and a song in my heart - I feel so fortunate to have plenty of loved ones to spend this happy day with, even if things aren't exactly how I would have planned them.

I’ll make a ham dinner. I’m also making cinnamon rolls for breakfast and I’ll eat chocolate & a few Girl Scout cookies, maybe even enjoy a whisky and coke because even though I’m not catholic or at all religious I gave up sweets/sugar for Lent.

Happy Easter !!
Nit decided yet - friends invited me over I may go - don’t know hate invading their family time but my friend insist I come so we shall see

Sounds like a great day, from start to finish.

We're were going to have the kids and grandkids over for the day and dinner. However, while on shift on Friday, Vince had to go to the hospital (one of the other ff/paramedics took him in their own ambulance) with severe abdominal pains. He is still there. I visited him yesterday. His wife, Katlyn, is going to go there again today. I am going out (about an hour drive) to pick up his 3 kids and bring them to our place. And then back later tonight. We will celebrate Easter, as well as Jeremy's 16th birthday today. So it will be Marie, all three grandkids and me. Vince and Katlyn in spirit, maybe a Zoom share.

Have a great day @ronandannette.

A pivot seems in order and I hope your son will recover fully and quickly. One thing about being our age is that we've had a lot of practice at "rolling with it" when unexpected wrenches are thrown. Enjoy your day and do let us know how the medical situation turns out. :flower3:

Heading to WDW!
:wave2:Have a lovely time. We travelled last year at Easter on a cruise and found it's just not quite right for us. I doubt we'll ever again plan to be away during a major season of celebration such as Easter or Christmas. Being in our "place" with our "people", even if the exact details morph from year-to-year, is just such an important part of our lives. Not sorry we tried it once though, it was worth it to find out it wasn't a fit.

ALL our family is coming for dinner today! The first time in a long long time. Our daughters, their partners, grandchildren and partners. Some a three hour drive, and one grandson’s flight arrives at 3:00. He’s been working in another province. It’s also his 21st birthday. There will be thirteen of us in our tiny house, but we’ll make it work. I’ve got lots prepared already and one grandson and his girlfriend are coming early and can help us. I’m excited about it and hope everyone makes it in time (flight?). Happy Easter everyone. I hope you can spend some time with loved ones too.

Isn't that the truth!

Thanks, and I will do.

Dan, I hope your son recovers quickly and it’s nothing serious. Do they have any idea what is causing the pain? Thinking good thoughts for him and all of you.

Cooking, yardwork, recovering from vacation, getting ready for the week ahead. We brought germs home from our cruise so not getting together for dinner, but still cooking a bunch for us for tonight and to feed us into the week.

No plans for me. Everyone else has gone to my cousin's house for Easter dinner. I did God only knows what to my back while I was sleeping and it's killing me (isn't it fun getting old), so I decided to stay home and take it easy. I'm rather enjoying the quiet.
