Happy Easter! Anyone else cooking already?

Working on the deviled eggs; making a big casserole of scalloped potatoes to go with the ham. My daughter is making glazed carrots. Baked the apple pie earlier; have key lime pie and chocolate pie thawing in the fridge.

Had a reservation at a restaurant that I cancelled very early this morning because I just didn't feel great and didn't like eating at 1:00. So no, no plans to cook anything special today. Oh yeah, I switched that reservation at Eddie V to my birthday.
I hope you feel better soon.

I'm not feeling well, so I won't be doing much cooking. We ordered breakfast from IHOP. That ended up being a comedy of errors. At least, we'll have something to laugh about for many Easters to come. DH is grilling tonight. He also bought a limited edition Spumoni at Publix. We've never tried one, so that will make our grilled steaks meal a little more special.
Hope you feel better as well.

Years and years ago I woke up Easter morning with Mono, it stinks to be sick on a Holiday.

Thanks. I have chronic health problems that aren't being kind to me at the moment. Hopefully, better weather will bring better health.

I cooked up a restaurant reservation!
Good idea! Our best-laid plans to be eating elsewhere today kind of went by the wayside. At church this morning we encountered a few dear ones who had no plans or anyone to celebrate with today so it just seemed right to invite them all over here. We had 4 people come for an early dinner. I stuck with my no-cooking vow though. We got take-out. :goodvibes

Family tradition from the 1970's of making bouillabaisse on Easter weekend. I served it yesterday to our family of 5 and we will be going to our favorite restaurant this afternoon. Happy Easter, it’s a beautiful day to celebrate spring.
Should you ever be short on time, Rachel Ray, makes a shortcut version of bouillabaisse that is seriously kick butt. I’ve been known to make it and not bat an eye when people talk of the hours they think it took for me to make it 🤭:

Can I just say that you seem like such a kind and welcoming person? People are lucky to have their life path intersect with you. God bless!

:goodvibes Thank you. Look us up if you're ever out this way. :wave2:

I come from very humble roots but the door was always open and there was always enough to share. Generosity and hospitality are in my blood, thanks to my beloved parents, and I'm thankful every day for the legacy they left me. This weekend was extra-special because we moved to a new home 5 months ago (a significant down-size) and have been stuck in renovation-hades ever since. It's been waaaaay too long since we were able to welcome anyone to our table and we were missing it desperately. It's really just been a joyful, lovely few days. :cloud9:
