I joined the boards on September 29, 2002 so today is my 13th anniversary!

Obviously, I love it here. I've got over 11,500 posts. And thanks to the DIS meets (which came much later), I've gotten to meet so many fellow DISers as well as the entire Orlando podcast team. I've been to meets in NJ, DE, MA, VA, PA, and informal meet ups in the parks in FL. I've done an Illuminations cruise with folks I met on the boards. I've learned about things in the parks and in the Orlando area including hotels, timeshares, restaurants, and other attractions.

Thank you to the entire DIS crew for everything they do for us every day!

Awesome Steve, and congrats. I know you always contribute to my enjoyment of being here (and I only post on this particular topic area too)., and always bring a lot of knowledge and humor into my days by reading your posts. And being from Joisey too, it's nice to be amongst a "neighbor". :)

Thanks so much, Heidi. What part of Jersey are you in?

Hooray!!
That sure is a long time!! And wonderful that you've met so many great people!
I enjoy your contributions and they're always witty and insightful,

I had another account that I used mainly for lurking but I forgot what it was, it was about a year or two older than this one, so I'm not sure of my DISaversary, but I'm coming up on a DIS milestone... 1,000 posts!
I lurked for so long, never being brave enough to post, but the podcast board has definitely gotten me past that!!

Very glad you got over that lurker status. I love your contributions to the board!
Thanks Steve, the feeling is mutual!

I've spoken about it before, but it's not often you come across Disney fans in Australia. Sure, people love the movies but to find people who know about the parks and care about the business and the intricate goings on in the company is rare. My sister is interested and I met a guy who is close to me who is very much into it, his wife, not so much, so we talk about Disney a lot.
I get picked on a bit as a 28 year old Accountant, covered in tattoos, 3 of which are Harry Potter related, married woman with no children who is "obsessed" with WDW and the Disney company, and of course Harry Potter, but I don't care. Every one has their interests, and I can't see how people are obsessed with cars or fishing, but do I pick on them for it? No! Of course not, it's your passion and it makes you happy!!
People just can't see my passion, they don't "get it" but you guys do, and I don't have to feel ridiculous for bringing it up here.
So for that, Steve, and all you other DIS fans, thank you!

Ditto what Steve said, Jes - glad you're not longer in "lurk mode:" here. :) I tend to "lurk" on the Disney restaurants topic (especially the restaurant reviews), but would probably not post there. And seeing as how it's been 3 years since I've been, and I have no IDEA when I'm going again, probably wouldn't post anywhere bu here anyway.

Camden County here, outside of Philly.
Kewl. :) I'm near Paramus, "The Land of the Giant Shopping Malls". :) I was down your way a few years ago for a meeting on the USS New Jersey, which is ironic, since I saw one of the recommisionings of it (was in/out of service several times) 30 years ago when I was in the Navy (long before I moved to NJ). I also was in Philly (loved it, always wanted to get back) for a "bucket list" DIS stockholder meeting the year Michael Eisner got voted out. :)

You're welcome. We are happy to indulge your obsession.

And I'm committed to meeting you one day (if I have to travel to Melbourne to do it - but hopefully in Orlando).

hehe, well in Orlando would be ideal for us both as it would be a holiday (sorry... vacation...) for us both, but Melbourne is pretty awesome! It's a wonderful place to visit I'm told.
My only experience with NJ is driving through a portion of it to get to the Premium outlets from NYC.

Off topic, but I think I've convinced Hubby that whether he likes it or not, i'm adding DLR to the end of our September trip next year. Whoo Hoo!!!!
