Happy Birthday ynottony99!!!!!!!!!

 That sounds about like my proposal! We were in the middle of nowhere and it was a beautiful night with bright stars. We wondered out into the middle of a field (full of brambles and other prickly things) and he had this impromptu thought and asked me to marry him! He didn't get down on one knee though.....the brambles.

When he gave me my ring though, he took me to a old castle on the coast of Maine and he DID get down on one knee! :goodvibes

Oh, How sweet. Better late than never.

I knocked my wife up and said "Aw, GREAT...now I guess you expect me to marry you!!!"

I know that sounds insensitive.....but the other option was punching her and running fast!!!!

No fancy proposal here. We were young, high school sweethearts, and when he proposed, I was 20 and he was only 19. But, we'll be married 20 years next month, so I guess it was the right decision! :thumbsup2

Yeah....18yrs later, I guess I have to say...I got the better end of that deal!!!

I sold my Glock 17 high capacity, just when they were getting hard to buy, so I could buy my wifes. Man I miss that thing....

Well, took the money, bought a heart shaped diamond. Planned a weekend at Presque Isle in Erie. Went to the beach at sunset, in front of the light house (erica loves lighthouses) sat on an old driftwood log, snuggled and got ready to watch the sunset, I pull ring out of my pocket, and burried it in the sand. (when we go to beaches, trails etc, she used to pick up a rock to save as a souvenier) I said look at this rock you can keep, and dug the ring out of the sand. It took her a second, and meantime I got down on one knee and asked her Will you marry me. I was expecting the waterworks, emotion, hugs, kisses etc. She looked at me and said, uh yeah sure. That was it!

Man do I miss that gun.

You sold your Glock?!?!? Wow, she must really be the one.

I don't remember much about my proposal. I don't remember much about that night. I do remember it was a Christmas party and it was 6 months to the day of our first date. I figured, why wait. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and I'd better get her to say yes before she sobers up and realizes what a "prize" I am. DW also had to wait quite a while for her diamond. Her first engagement ring cost, IIRC, $136. The salesperson swore there was a diamond in there somewhere. Thankfully DW is not big on diamonds. Last year I surprised her with a 2 carat ring with the anniversary setting for our anniversary. Unfortunately I'm getting too old to get on one knee and if I did she'd never be able to get me up. We just passed 17 years, so far so good.
