Didn't he turn 69 last year?

He's doing what my mother did. He's celebrating the anniversary of his 69th birthday.

My mother never got to be a day over 21. She'd say "It's not my birthday. I am celebrating the anniversary of my 21st birthday."

So for her 41st we threw her a surprise party and decorated it with 20th anniversary stuff.
