Today in 1998, Animal Kingdom opened!

YUP -- 5 years old already! Our local Tampa TV station was broadcasting from there this morning. I have to admit, though, that it's not my favorite of the Disney parks... but interesting enough to go at least once!

We were there a week after it opened. I can't believe it has been 5 years already! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AK!

5 years! Can't believe it! Sadly, last Christmas our Animal Kingdom 1998 Christmas ball ornament was broken. I saved it anyway because it was the only momento from the first year.

Happy Birthday, Animal Kingdom! I hope the next 5 bring many more rides and improvements!

I love Animal Kingdom. It is so beautiful!

DD and I were there in 1998....about a week before it opened. We were surprised with a soft opening visit for resort guests. It was great!!
