One of the nice things about DL’s bday is that guests wish happy birthday to Cast Members all day and they always play along. Wish I was there now. Rope drop was five minutes ago :-(.

Shoot — you beat me by three minutes with the same post ;-).

I’ve got so many memories but one of my favorites is from about a year ago. A girl and her mother were sitting near the hub (closer to Jolly Holiday). The girl was crying inconsolably, which always tugs at my heartstrings. Moments later, I saw that she had a large hearing aid of some sort attached to her ear. It always makes me sad when kids cry — I always want to rush to help them — but when a deaf child cries, it makes me even more sad. I had some walnuts leftover from my lunch and I asked the mother if I could give them to her daughter to feed to the ducks. She said that I could and in just a few moments the crying girl was transformed into a happy, laughing child. Thinking about that now still makes me smile . What a blessing that was.

This was on my first trip to Disneyland when I was 4. The Rescuers was one of my favorite movies (I grew up in a movie theater so I was able to watch it a lot) and meeting Bernard was a highlight.

Here's my Mom, same trip. She took us on the Greyhound bus to Disneyland from Northern, Ca... she was afraid to drive in LA! July, 1976.

Here is one of my mom and my sister and I from that same trip in 1978. I just love the castle in the background. I always wanted to go back and recreate this one now but since my mom lost her leg it is difficult for her to travel.

One last one with me and my little sister ; this was from 1982 when I was 9 and the last time at Disneyland until 2012 when I finally got to go back.

OMG! I still remember the summer of the 50th, and DS being a CM there who got to work on stage escorting the fab five. Seems like it was yesterday. Reminds me how quickly they and we get older.
