Thanks roy for keeping the florida project alive.

So far there has been a special map with fold out poster, pin dated for today. There is today only merch but the line is insane. Special treats at gastons, and most of the crowd in the hub waiting for presentation starting soon.

Characters have been out a little more than normal on my quick loop before the hub.

Press, bloggers, etc out in force.

Taking lots of pics, will post an event report tonight if still alive ot tomorrow if i wake up.

One thing I loved about the July session of Connecting with Walt was the focus on all that Roy did to get the Florida Project done (in some form) and that we was much more than "just the numbers guy" ... and that he very much insisted that it is called Walt Disney World - not just Disney World - so I try to remember to use the full name as much as possible

Very true all you said, Max, and I try to use the full name too, and "respect" both Walt, AND Roy - both made very different, but very vital, contributions to our Happy Place. And as we used to say at work "There is no I in T-E-A-M".

Without Roy we literally have none of this; Disney World and everything that has come after dies with Walt. This great man gave up the last years of his life, time away from his family, to turn an inhabitable swamp into the grandest vacation kingdom the world has ever known. He died two months after it opened... he literally willed himself to live long enough to complete the dream.

Everytime I walk into the Magic Kingdom and pass by Roy's park bench, I say a little thank you.

Apparently star bucks some type of mk 45th while supplies last cup. It wasnt clear if that means today only amount or if they have a couple month supply.

They ran out of today only pins really fast. Didnt get one and it took 2 hours in line includding checkout.

I have a bunch of friends who are there today. I was there for the 15th, 20th, and 25th. I told DW today that we're going for the 50th (if we aren't living there yet by then).

I think so, i might go back for fireworks and to get one. They had castmembers showing them off on the street.

Something to note, the 2016 merch seems to be removed from shelves and replaced with anniversary merch of similar style. This is merch that is not today only. Cups, shirts, etc. I assume resorts and other parks still have them but havent been to any to confirm.

Also the banner on castle is no longer on the castle so not sure whats going on there.

Its definitely limited but the cm didnt really know how limited. But the cms for the other merch were sharing numbers like last 400 pins just went out, 6000 shirts left.

Side note, the one dsy only shirts will be orderable next week online. Not sure if they have restrictions but i did grab the info. Ill have to find where i put it as they only had limited passholder shirts. They also didnt have larger sizes.

The passholder ones seem the same that were in shop spp 3 weeks ago but im 90 percent sure they were grey and not the green sold today.

I had a nap so ill get a more wordy with pics event thread started.

I was looking at the clock and listening to wishes in the distance and decided I'm too damn tired to see if the starbucks cup is still left so I also ebayed it.. it wasn't horribly priced. I also found someone who undervalued the I was there pin that sold out so I snagged that too...
