Today, October 1, 2015 is the 44th anniversary of the day WDW opened. Where were you then???

Today is also the 33rd birthday of EPCOT which opened on October 1, 1982.

I remember when you were just a lad with a Magic Kingdom.

My first visit was in 1978. One park, three hotels. Life was so much simpler then.

I'm not exactly sure. Was that a school day?

It was a Friday.

I was in Mrs. Hall's 3rd grade class.

I was 9,300 miles away.

I wasn't even a twinkle in my then 13 year old mother's and 22 year old father's eyes

And I was still 4 years away when Epcot opened.

My mother in law had to wait 3 more weeks to give birth to my husband. I was not on my way for another 8 1/2 years. I was 2 when EPCOT opened. I was probably playing with my sister in military house in San Pedro.

I was in school too, 2nd grade if I'm calculating correctly. As I said, my first trip was in 1978. First visit to EPCOT was early 1983 so I was closer to opening day. First visit to MGM was June 1989 just one month after opening. And I finally hit it right with Animal Kingdom. First visit was a few days before grand opening for AP preview. We then also attended grand opening.
