the dis video of this is outstanding!!!
don't bother with any of the other videos..
the dis has a perfect view and is in extremely high quality...

after watching the dis version, i definitely think the show is pretty awesome...
really nice coordination of the projections, lighting and fireworks....nicely done...

watch this one and you'll have a much better idea of what the show's like than from the disney video

I also like watching versions like this where you can really heard the crowd's excitement and cheering when a new character comes on the castle, etc. - makes it feel more "real" to me rather than what Disney Parks Blog had which felt more like watching a movie

I was never a fan of Wishes, but I really enjoyed watching this new show. There was so much to look at, I'm not really sure what I saw. Unlike Wishes, this new show definitely held my attention from start to finish. :)

i wonder if that's because of the way we saw it on streaming..
the director finally gave us a decent wide angle view for the villains section.....

i loved the villains section..

and i loved i will go the distance....that's when i cried....

i don't really like the new song, and i don't like the two singers' voices, so after i will go the distance it was a bit of a let down for me..

but again, i think my reactions were very much affected by the terrible camera direction of disney's live streaming..
I didn't like the singers either, it doesn't deliver any "magic", the castle and the fireworks are amazing, love they keep tinkerbell, but the music didn't hit me like wishes soundtrack

I agree... this is a much better version than the live stream! Hearing the crowd reactions on this video made the experience of watching from home so much better. Plus quality and angle was much better. Thank you Dis Team!!!

I thought the show was disney finally getting that they are out of touch with the current generation and their young children.. It is perfect for the millennials with lots of disposable income. this is the disney they grew up on.

wishes don't really get you forward in life. Overcoming obstacles to live happily ever after does.
Yes!!

Visually was stunning. But lacked the story and emotion and the flow of wishes.

Taking this from a comment over on Youtube, because it puts it in words better than I can. Especially before my morning coffee

HEA is about providing you with the tools to achieve your dreams then giving you the baton, the responsibility to go out and achieve them. This is a call to arms, while Wishes was more about coming together to create a memory so that we may not forget what our dreams actually are... That's why HEA shows our heroes during their 'I want song,' then takes us to the friends section teaching us to not go on our journey alone, and then ends with our heroes achieving their dreams by doing the impossible and overcoming evil... then says, "Now go!" Go out and do this... because you can achieve the impossible too... HEA assumes, since you've lived in a world with 'Wishes" which taught us to believe, that you believe... that means that you also believe in yourself too. Quite different, but just as good in my opinion.

The Dis video was outstanding. Disney has outdone themselves, it is fantastic. Given that they went so big, I think I understand why they took out the nighttime parade. This really isn't just fireworks, but a complete nighttime spectacular (on the scale of Fantasmic, but using castle projections instead of water).

This is how I feel about the show too. I had no trouble following the story and loved it.
I see it as almost a continuation of Wishes. Wishing for something, believing it can happen, is where you start.
HEA is about empowering yourself to make those dreams come true.

I really liked Tiana being at the beginning of HEA. I think she bridged these two concepts perfectly.

I agree, however I do really appreciate that towards the end they added a a little part of wishes. For about 10 seconds it felt like home lol.

It'll be a long journey till December but I rather wait and see it live. I haven't watched ROL either because I want it to be a surprise.

I was there with my wife and we had an amazing view.

1. Sensory overload. You can't watch everything at once and it made the whole thing too cluttered. In fact, the fireworks took a major backseat to the "movie trailers".
2. No Jiminy was really disappointing.
3. What is up with all of these C level movies? Moana got more time than Frozen? Tianna and Mulan? The Hunchback? Barely any Cinderella, on her own castle no less? Barely any Snow White? No Seven Dwarfs? They have the most popular ride in the park!
4. A timeless and heartwarming fireworks show was turned into an overproduced overindulgent mishmash of technology. Just because you have the ability does not mean you have jam all of it into a 15 minute show.

Some of it was entertaining..... but in the end I wasn't left with the feeling of whimsy and wonder that Wishes had.

The production of this thing was way too much.

Some pics of my vantage point.... Even though we were disappointed, we were thankful that we were there.

So, thoughts...

I liked Moana a zillion times better than Frozen and as much as I love Snow White, Cinderella, etc., these are classics to us, but not classics to the younger generations - they will have the new classics. A lot of people love Princess Tianna and Mulan.

If everything just stayed the same, things would become stale and outdated. As long as they still give a nod to the originals, there is room for everyone at the party. :)

had it only been a bit of the projections it might have been ok...but they spent a great deal of the time in extreme close up completely ruining the effect...
during the lanterns section i was screaming at the computer, "pull back pull back"....
they finally did, for about two seconds...
even the castle projections looked better from that pulled back position...
you got the effect of the lanterns floating up...much more magical than in extreme close up...

i'm looking forward to seeing the blogger videos..

and of course, in person in august..

I have to agree with you 100% here. There were times everything was zoomed out with no fireworks and I was hoping for more projection, and there were times you could hear the fireworks but it was all zoomed in.

It was like the camera team and the production booth hadn't gone to any of the rehearsal fireworks, and flying off the seat of their pants once they got there.

The DIS version is so much better, even with a fixed camera.

If you watch the DIS video, Moana gets a huge cheer when that part starts. Might be the biggest

A lot of posters complained when it was first announced that Frozen was going to be in it since they felt WDW is over saturated with it. Imagine if it had a bigger presence. There would be 20 posts right now about it.

I actually really liked what they did with the Frozen part. They didn't just throw the movie in there. They rearranged and stripped down Love is an Open Door into a ballad.

Could this be a bit of recency bias? I mean.... Forest Gump won the oscar but Shawshank has won the war IMO. The movie came out last year and already was elevated above many other more worthy candidates. I personally loathe the frozen songs now because of all of the kids singing them all over gods creation, but isn't that the point? And none of the newer movies Disney have done have really caught my attention. Pixar is clearly making better movies IMO.

But I do understand that you have to speak to all generations here. I just think older baby boomers, along with gen X and Y are still paying most of the bills for the park. Especially at these prices.

And you gotta give some of these newer movies time to breathe before you canonize them.

Currently watching The Dis 4k video of Happily Ever After and just wow....LIGHT YEARS better than what the Disney Parks Blog stream showed last night. For anyone basing their opinion solely on the Parks Blog stream last night, give The Dis video of it a shot. The camera is in the perfect location, it doesn't zoom in and out, it get's all the fireworks and you get to hear the crowd reactions! Amazing video!

We will also be there in December, just not sure I will be able to wait until then to watch it! Lol. I have a feeling I will end up watching it very soon.

well i've now watched the dis version about 15 times....
and i'm totally hooked and emotional over the new show..
even crying when the guy tells us to go out and make our happily ever happen for ourselves...

so i'd say two thumbs up up up!! :)

I streamed it live in New England but I am looking forward to seeing it live in September. For my review... Its Disney and of course its wonderful, amazing technology however for me at 46 I miss having a connection to Walt. A little Dumbo was nice but a bit crazy not seeing or hearing any Mickey and I agree with the person that said missing Jiminy Cricket. Amazing technology but the simplicity that touches the heart as a Disney fan I think was sadly missing.

This is what I got. Best 360 video out there (even with youtube killing the quality). scroll around to see what it looks like around hub
