Happily Ever After... A WACKY Vacation for a Fairy Tale Wedding...WEDDING ADDED 2/2

I just stumbled on this and have to say I can't wait to read more! I love WDW during the holidays.

Day 2 - Epcot and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIEL!!

This morning we got up around 7:00 to make it to Epcot by 9. I love Daniel, I really do - he has been BG's best friend since college and I have known him for 7 years.... But for some reason that man can't take a shower in less than 30 minutes. :rotfl: We learned early on in this trip to make sure he is up and getting ready first.

Epcot was not crowded that morning, so while BG and Daniel headed to TT to get FP - FMIL and I went to Guest Relations to get "Just Married" buttons for me and BG and a "Happy Birthday" button for Daniel (his birthday was on the 18th). This birthday button would prove to be our demise during the week....:sad2: We met back with them at the fountain and made our way over to Soarin'. Daniel had not had the chance to ride Soarin', so I thought I would have a little fun with him, as he is afraid of heights. So, I told him that when we went into the wind tunnel to make sure he tightened his harness on really tight and NOT to let go of the handlebars. It was like pulling teeth to get him on the ride. At the point of the line when the CM puts the guests into the designated areas, BG and I asked for our party to be placed in B1. The CM told us that he would try, but he couldn't guarantee it. Then he saw Daniel and said "Happy Birthday Daniel! Which section would you like to sit in today?" Daniel, having not rode before, looked at me for an answer. I whispered B1... needless to say, that is where we were placed...

After we had a light breakfast at Sunshine Seasons and Daniel was given a Birthday brownie from the pastry section.... , we headed onto Living with The Land. I heard on the DIS that the guides were no more, being replaced an automated voice. I liked it. Though it lacked the human interaction that we were used to, it was nice.... I thought the herb garden section was really cute, Disney put Christmas ornaments on the herbs....

We also went over to the new "The Seas with Nemo and Friends" This was also a cute addition to TLS. We wanted to go into Turtle Talk, but the crowd was large and I didn't want to take space away from a family that had children so that we could go in to talk to the totally awsome turtle! Maybe next time...;)

Test Track was next, and FMIL went on this ride with us. She went on TT a couple of years ago when we went to The World with BG's parents. She swore that she would never go on it again. Boy, was she wrong. We were making our way through Mouse Gears to move on over to the World Showcase. The lights were spectacular, and it was day time.

So far, this is the very best trip report I have read thus far! Very interesting! I can't wait to hear how it all plays out:)

The 4 of us were continuing our way around the WS. This is my favorite park - and I LOVE the WS. I love the great food and the shopping. You can always find something neat there that you HAVE to have - though you really don't need it.

We stopped to take BG and Daniel's picture in Canada...

We stopped for fish and chip in the UK. I learned years ago that in order to have enough room to eat lots of yummy things around the WS, BG and I have to share everything. That way, I don't gain 10 lbs. a day and we don't spend TOO much on the food and we can eat more of the things we like...

After making our way around the WS, we decided to head back to the GF for the afternoon tea in the lounge. First, we stopped in Innoventions to have our Disney Visa picture taken...

Congradulations on your Wedding. For the record, I will be doing the "redneck" thing and taking my husband on a wondering tour and visiting the wedding pavalion. I just found an extra $500 for our vacation, I would really like to surprise my dh with an upgrade at least 2 nites at a monorail resort. We are doing 4 nites at POR and 4 nites at BWV. I would love to take 2 nites of POR and call for the Grand floridian. Your pictures of the resort are beautiful. Sorry for babbling-you just made me realize I could do the switch.

I'm so sorry hear to about your DFIL :sad1: :grouphug:

Congratulations on your wedding!! We were at WDW the same time as you. The 16th - 26th at ASMu. We honeymooned in WDW 20 years ago! A lot has changed.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

sorry about the passing of your father in law. :O(

looking foward to hearing more of your trip, and all of you in 1 room on your WEDDING NIGHT? I personally as a friend/relative would never to that to anyone! LOL! but if it was somethign that had to be done, as a bride i would do what you are saying...'determined to make it work' looking forward to hearing more. :O)

After seeing your beautiful picture on the GF FAQ board, I just HAD to come over here and find your TR!!! Great start so far! I can't wait to read more! :goodvibes

I'm very sorry about your loss! I hope you all are doing OK now that your Wedding is over and you're back home and have to deal with 'real life'.

Take care,
-Michelle

Are you and BG enjoying your day off? Don't you love snow days? :yay: So that means you could maybe post some more TR, right

After a light rest, we all decided to go back to Epcot for the evening. The lights were quite nice during the day, but they were absolutely stunning at night.

The "snowflake" lights. I don't know exactly what these lights were supposed to be, but I think of them as "snowflakes":)

The Christmas Tree at night

We also had our picture taken under the Christmas tree, but they came out too dark. :confused3 We stopped for dinner at the Canadian kiosk for Eggnog, Beefstew and an ale. While it was all very good, I like the eggnog the best :thumbsup2 The beefstew was a little smokey for my taste, I prefered the goulash in Germany. We also did a lot of shopping - I purchased some Christmas presents for my family. My mother and brother weren't due to arrive for the wedding until Tuesday night.

We stopped at the American Adventure to take a quick peek inside. Daniel is a HUGE achitecture and antique buff - so he was absolutely in awe of this building. Which, I agree with. He decided at that point that we were all going to build a house that looked like the AA building and live in there together. I wouldn't mind having a house that size - as long as I didn't have to clean it....:scared1:

Inside the AA
DSC01271.jpg

Inside the AA, a CM asked Daniel if he had had a phone call that day for his birthday... So, he received a "Birthday Wish" phone call from Goofy. Then, the CM mentioned my "Just Married" button and asked where my groom was. BG was outside eating his kaki-gori that he had purchased in Japan. The CM asked him to come inside, then we recived the wedding message from Mickey and Minnie and a "Magical Moments" certificate from the CM. That was the first time all day a CM had noticed our buttons - that would be a repeat pattern for the remainder of our stay.

As part of the planning, I asked BG before we left for this trip how he felt about the CP package. He thought we could just do what we did last year and get in the standby line to see the show. This year, when he saw that the "Standby" line started in 3 countries down - he wasn't too sure. So, while we had stopped at the AA, I went over to the CP Information desk to see if there were any ADRs left for the week. NOTHING!! There was not an ADR to be found at any of the restaurants for any of the show times. So, while we would try to get there, it didn't look like we would be seeing CP on this trip. This really made me upset - FMIL didn't see it last year on the trip, and Daniel had never seen it. So, I really wanted the CP to be one of the highlights of their trip. :sad2:

We stopped in Norway for a school bread - which we all attacked so fast I didn't get to take a picture of...popcorn:: Then, it was back to the GF - BG loves to stay Concierge. We have splurged for it on previous trips - so he always looks forward to the evening dessert offerings. While they are all very good, they are always the same. One thing about staying CL - the food offerings don't give you much variety from the previous trips. If you found something you liked on another trip, more than likely you will having it again on a future trip....which may or may not be a good thing...

We had stepped back down to the 3rd floor and saw our favorite Concierge at the GF - Joe!!!:woohoo: He is so great at his job - and he is so nice and friendly. WDW has a great CM in him. I mentioned to him that I would love to see on of the Disney suites (the Roy Disney suite or the Walt Disney Suite) and after a quick clicking on the computer, he said to come with him. The Roy Disney suite is just beautiful - BG and I may spring for that on a return trip. It is just so luxurious, that you don't feel like you are in a hotel room. It would have been great to have for the week of our wedding, seeing as there were 4 of us. But, it wasn't available for some of our nights during the week, so maybe next time...:rolleyes1

There were also 2 1/2 bathrooms - which were all HUGE!!! You could easily have a party in any of them...:yay: Also, the second bedroom had 2 twin sleigh beds. The suite was just beautiful. So many pictures on the wall from the private Disney collection.

Maybe, I can talk BG into a splurge for our first anniversary.....:rolleyes1 :dance3:

It was quite late, so we decided to call it a night. The next morning, we were going to the MK!!!!

   for the Roy Disney Suite!!! Beautiful! Can't wait for the MK...

Thanks so much!!

You know, that suite would be perfect for us to all head down for a long weekend..... Think you and Jack would be up for it?? Adults only weekend?? I think the girls might get a little jealous though!!!

Tomorrow we will be married 3 weeks - I didn't think much would have changed, we have lived together for almost 5 years now. But, I sure was wrong.... Being married, I look at BG so much different than I did before. I was not prepared for that....

Ahhh! An adults only weekend...sounds good to me! It's the Dad I would have to convince. He feel "guilty" when we go anywhere without them.

I am waiting patiently for some more. princess:
