Happiest Celebration Questions/Dates/Etc...

We are trying to plan for our next Disney trip in October 2006, around the second week or so. Does anyone know when all of the Happiest Celebration shows/rides stop? In the past special events do they stop these shows and rides on a certain date or do they die down and close them off here and there. Any answers will be great in helping us plan for next trip…thanks!

I'm not positive, but I thought I read somewhere that the Happiest Celebration on Earth ends at the end of September. I tried looking for more information, but there isn't that much out right now. I'm sure there is a set date when everything will just end. That was what happened for Cinderella's Surprise Celebration. It ended on February 26th, there wasn't anything while the castle was being decorated, the soft opening of Cinderellabration was March 17th, and the grand opening of the show was May 5th. So anything that's ending will probably have a date. But the only thing that I think would end would be Cinderellabration (if it's ending). I don't think Soarin' is coming down, I don't think the stunt show is ending, and Lucky is gone already.

We're visiting October 2006, too and didn't want to miss seeing the Castle all done up! I e:mailed Disney directly for an answer as all the different sites say different things! They replied with a "scheduled to conclude December 2006" but also stated that this was "subject to change" so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!

That's interesting! Can I ask when you rec'd this email? I emailed them the same question and they told me that it definitely ends Sept. 30, 2006 (this is also the date that a couple of other promotions end with the Disney Visa) but that they "didn't know when or if the castle decorations will come down".

I'm really hoping they leave them up 'til the end of '06!!

Remember that the celebration started in May and is running for 18 months. So unless they decide to extend it to December, it should end around Sep or Oct. Remember it started on 05-05-05 and switch that around and you have 50 50 50 years of celebrating....

Crazy! My dh emailed them last night and they emailed back today saying that it was an "18-month celebration beginning on May 5, 2005."

I REALLY wish they'd get their story straight!!!

I agree, too. Maybe WDW will leave the Happiest Celebration decorations/shows up until the end of the holiday season, then!
I live in hope!

I agree with you guys, hopefully the stuff will stay up until they start to decorate with the Christmas stuff. Maybe when it is closer they will post exact dates...until then I will be one to get my fingers crossed too. Thanks for your help!
