Hello,

I've been a lurker on this board for quite some time but was never able to do a planning report in fear that my guests would get a hold of our wedding details. You see only my hubbie and Mum knew all the details the other 12 guests just knew we were flying to Florida to get married and that was it.

So anyway I'll introduce myself. I'm Hannah and I'm from the UK. I've been with Tim for 7 years and finally tied the knot 2 weeks ago after a very long engagement.
Just a brief bit about our background and then I can move on to the more exciting info: Me and Tim met through a mutual friend while he was in the armed forces. He proposed to me after 6 months not before asking my Dad's permission, we never managed to set a date as things kept cropping up and it was always after this or how about next year... In the end my Mum suggested we set a date, it was starting to sound like excuses.

I had been to Disney before hand and had always said I would love to take Tim some time and when we were on holiday 2 years ago while we sat around the pool we both decided that a good old fashioned white wedding was not for us and it would be so much better to get a holiday on top of a wedding. So that was that the easy bit was done, next came the location.
I'd never have dreamed of getting married at Disney so it was only by off chance that we chose to get married. There may of been a bit of arm twisting on Tim's side but I'm sure now it's all over he knows it was the best decision.

So two years of planning began. I'm too much like a perfectionist and a worrier. We chose not too invite too many guests as we wanted to keep the party small and intimate so we each invited two close friends each and imediate family. Unfortunately grandparents were unable to attend due to age and it being so far away but we would have oved them to be there with us. So in total there was going to be 15 of us. The easiest thing for us to do would be booking a villa big enough to cater for us all. So we ended up with a villa at Emerald Island all of 5 mins from Disney.

We originally wanted to go for an escape wedding as we were below the minimum but as time went on and I kept adding more things it actually made more sense to go for a custom, we ended up getting way more for our money and believe it or not remained within our budget. :cool1:

As our wedding day went we got married at 2.30pm at the Wedding Pavilion followed by our reception at American Adventure Parlour room and then topping the evening off with an illuminations dessert party at UK lower terrace. It was soooo much fun.... I would do it all over again if I could.

So first of all I'll start with my vendor reviews:

UK Tour operator: First Choice B
12 months of worrying an nagging to confirm details I had no consistancy. Bad turn over so if I was dealing with one person one week they'd have left by the following week. Hope it wasn't something I said? lol. Flight was good, we upgraded our seats to get extra leg room and a bit of indulgence. Unfortunately had to listen to a screaming toddler for 8 hours there and back. Grrrr!

Disney Resort: Port Orleans French Quarter D
Ok I loved the resort it was picturesque and just what I wanted however the bad review is down to the staff who were rude and obnoxious. On the eve of my wedding day I was in tears at the front desk because they were refusing to help me. The night before the wedding I had booked the room for me, my bridesmaids and my mum to stay at the resort with a water view. I was then staying with hubbie for the remainder of my booking and I was happy to stay in the same room. They said because it was under two different bookings that I would need to check out of the room I was staying in for the first night to then check back in to a room at 3pm (half an hour after I would be getting married) I was trying to say that come 11am I would be having my hair and make up done and couldn't possibly check out at that time because they couldn't guarantee me a room to check back in to. The manager who eventually came to see me was not interested in how I felt and offered me a picture frame as compensation and a later check out at 1pm. When I burst in to tears he started laughing and said "what you crying for???"
And the cherry on top was I didn't even have a water view I had a view of the carpark and some trees. Needless to say I won't be returnignto that resort.

Hair and Make-up: Makeovermajic Anna Wacasar A*****
Fantastic love this Woman. So bubbly ad happy just what I needed when I had the worse case of nerves. She did my hair and makeup perfectly and even stuck around to help me get into my dress and check out of the room. Also very efficient, she had my bridal portrait hair and makeup done with in 40mins if that.

Photography: Who else but Randy Chapman A**********
What can I say about Randy that doesn't sound like everyone else.... He is amazing at his job and I loved working with him. He managed to get all of my prints and discs to me before I flew back to the UK. He was great at getting the best out of people especially my younger sister who is very shy and self concious, the piccies of her are stunning. I was so happy that I had Randy booked but now that I have my photo's back I even more thrilled.

Videography: Stvs Weddings Stan A****
Stan blended in to the background and I sometimes I forgot that he was there. When he returned for our dessert party he showed us the sneak peek that he'd done for us and I was so over the moon. The amount of times that I have watched everyone elses sneak peeks and thought one day it will be my turn. It was an amazing feeling watching it and reliving it with everyone. I couldn't help but start crying, the first time all day.

Officient: Reverend Randal Miller B
Absolutely loved the ceremony he performed it was so heart felt. Only slight issue is comunication. Rev Miller has a very laid back approach and with me being a worrier I was constantly emailing to get answers. But all ended well. Would recommend Rev Miller as his ceremonies are beautiful.

Co-ordiantor: Meri Williamson A
Lucky for me, Meri is a very patient person. We did have a lot of contact through emails and a few phone planning sessions but she is extremely efficient when she needs to get an answer for you. It's normally done with in 24 hours at least. I didn't really get any time to thank her for her hard work as she seemed to be running around in the background but everything went well thanks to her.

Floral: Laura Kidd A
I did take my own floral bouquets from the uk so I only needed arrangements for the pavilion and our reception. Everything was stunning though and minimal which is what we wanted our table had blue glow cubes and gel filled cylinders which look stunning when the lights are low. Again Laura is another patient person who completely loves her job and it comes across in her work. She was very efficient but did not have a lot of floral to do for me.

Anyway I'll leave it at that for now and will return with piccies and more about out fairytale wedding. :cloud9:

we have meri!! and from the uk!! I'm 10 weeks today till our wedding!

Cant wait to see your pics, I think I have seen your sneek peek as we too have stan booked

Congratulations form another UK bride.

We only have about four weeks left the go!!!!!

Can't wait to see your photos.

I can't wait to hear about your wedding!!

More! More!
I am so glad you were happy with your vendors. Meri is our WP too, and she is just terrific! I love that she is so responsive and patient and she never makes me feel like a nuisance. :thumbsup2

This made me tear up!! We're using Stan also, and when you mentioned watching everyone else's sneak peeks and waiting for your turn...then it finally being you in the sneak peek...omg...im tearing up again!! I feel that exact way right now...and with it being only 6 months away its becoming more and more real!

Congrats!!! I can't wait to hear more!! :surfweb:

I've been away for a while and thought I would continue my TR from our wedding.

So I guess I'll start from somewhere near the beginning. After 2 years of planning and fretting we were finally ready to fly to Florida and get married. I was so stressed the week coming up to flying out with last minute checks and organising along with every other bride I guess. I took the week before we flew off work and tried to get everything done ready for the Saturday.
I'd booked myself in for a day of pampering and relaxation at a local salon, I was having hair extensions put in for the big day and was really nervous about it. I remember worrying that something would go wrong or I wouldn't like the extensions but I was wrong, I loved them.
This was before they went in:
wed3001-1.jpg

And this was after, I was so happy cause I have thin hair as it is and with my hair being longer I knew there would be no problem with my hair on the wedding day.
wed3002-1.jpg

wed3003-1.jpg

While I was there I had a hair trial to see what it was going to look like, from my smile you can see I'm chuffed lol
wed3004.jpg

So my day had gone really well however I was taking my little sister Jess who was my chief bridesmaid for her hair to be cut ready before we were leaving. She is only 17 and very quiet. She asked the girl to give her a sweeping fringe and some layers in her length and the girl started chopping away at it. The girl didn't look happy at all and just cut the hair and walked away from Jess for someone else to come and blow dry her hair. When Jess walked over to me I was really shocked cause her hair was a mess and her fringe was all different layers. I asked Jess if she was happy with it and she said she was so I left it at that. I was unhappy with it but I thought if Jess liked it then I couldn't really say anything. It wasn't until we got home that I realised that Jess wasn't happy with it and started to get upset. The hairdresser had just completely chopped into her hair.. :scared1: Talk about unnecessary stress. SO I took her back and spoke to the manager who took care of her while I had a much needed coffee. They were so shocked that the girl had cut her hair like it and apologised profusely they then tried to salvage her hairstyle knowing that I was getting married in less than a week. They also gave her a free haircut for when she got back. I suppose I couldn't really say anything to that. At least they did something about her fringe.
Anyway we decided to spend some time with our families before we were flew out so Tim went to his Mums and I took my Grandparents out for a meal as they were unable to come over to Florida with us.

We went to a really nice restaurant and Mum and Dad surprised me with some wedding presents that couldn't fit in their suitcase. lol
wed3055-1.jpg

Mum bought me a charm bracelet with a fairy godmother charm on it and inside she had a napkin from years ago when we first visited Florida and she had written on it "May your dreams come true" It was so sweet I got really upset I guess cause it was such a big build up and now it was finally here.
wed3048-1.jpg

So on my final day before we flew out I was rushing around like a mad woman. The dog needed to go to the kennel, I wanted my eyebrows waxed and coloured, eyelashes permed and dyed lol all the important last minute tasks. I still needed to pack my dress too.
It was at my Mums house to stop Tim being tempted to peek at it. I wasn't happy about putting it in the hold with fear that I would never see it at the other end. So I bought some vacuum pack bags and a piece of hand luggage that was with in the airlines regulations. Me and my Mum then attempted to fit my dress in to the bag and make sure the bodice wasn't bent as it was boned. We finally managed to get it in there and hoped that the airline wouldn't ask me to open it while we were in the airport. There was no way that dress wasn't getting on the plane. I was going to wear it on to the plane if they didn't let it on, I suppose I would of blind folded Tim at that point. :rotfl2:
We thought it would be best to have all our friends stay at our house ready for the coach to pick us up in the morning to take us to the airport. Everyone was so excited about the wedding and the holiday as some had never been to Florida and some had never been abroad before. I got no sleep at all that night I was trying to get everything sorted but ended up rushing over to my parents house seeing if they had any room left in their luggage at 2.30am. Luckily they were still up and we managed to sort everything into hand luggage and suitcases. Although I still had to finish packing mine.
Then I realised that the only way of contacting people when we got over to Florida was by phone so I was trying to sort out contact numbers and contracts. It sounds like I was so unorganised but really I was trying to make sure anything that could possibly go wrong didn't. At about 5.30am I was finishing my programs off as the printer wasn't working properly and I had originally planned to go without but then decided to give it one last go. Everyone was asleep and Tim had tried to help me but gave up and went back to sleep. lol I guess he thought he was in the way.
So at 6.15am with everyone finally awake we went to meet the coach.
Some took longer than others to wake up:
wed3081-1.jpg

Some of us were not as awake as others (Ian best friend)

wed3082-1.jpg

We live in a small cul de sac and had decided to get picked up round the corner at a bear pub. Pleading with the guys and gals not to make too much noise to wake the neighbours, I gave up and joined in the suitcase race to the coach. That was it we were on our way.

wed3085-1.jpg

In this photo: Me, Ian (best friend), Schmian (best man), Tim (Groom), Andy D (Best Man)
rofl look how tired we are especially me I can hardly open me eyes. I thought I would sleep on the plane but I can never sleep on the plane.

Next stop was Tims parents to pick up his Mum and Dad and three sisters.
wed3087.jpg

In this photo: Mark (Tim's Dad), Lynda (Tim's Mum) Amanda (Tim's sister)

We had allowed 15 minutes at each pick up point and 15 minutes of travelling to each others houses. I suppose we did that just incase we had any delays, but our coach driver out his foot down and we were at Tims parents house within 15 minutes which meant that my parents weren't expecting us for another 45minutes... oops! I gave them a call to say we were on our way and they had only just got up, they thought we were joking but luckily we didn't have to rush so I got the coach driver to pull up and allow them time to get ready.
What time do you call this?
Chris (Hannah‘s brother)

wed3101.jpg

Then we loaded their luggage on to the coach and set off. I was so tired but relieved that we were on our way finally. I took a seat next to my Dad and started to fall asleep during the hour long journey to Manchester Airport.

Next up: Arriving at Sanford & Getting very lost!

We had upgraded our flights and arrived at the airport with plenty of time to go. We went to the check in desk to check in. We put all of our luggage on one at a time and luckily they were all under weight which had been worrying me. I had packed a second suitcase for my flowers as I was taking silk and we were able to put them through on the fragile desk so they were going to be handled with care :lovestruc
When it came to the hand luggage the woman asked us to hold up all our pieces of hand luggage so she could see the sizes. When she saw mine she asked for it to be weighed. I was completely panicking cause I knew it was over the limit. She asked me what was in it and I told her it was my dress luckily she allowed me to take it on provided that it would stay under my seat which made me laugh cause there was no way it was leaving my lap :rotfl2:
When we were told what seats we had we found out that 3 of us would be at the back of the section and the other 12 were 6 rows in front. We asked if we could change them seeing as we were the first ones to check in but she said they were allocated when the holiday was booked??? But we had booked the holiday as a group of 15 more than 12 months in advance. Our only hope was to ask the 3 people in the row behind us would mind swapping with us....I'm sure if we pointed out we weren't the quietest of groups that may have helped them with their decision.

So we then counted the hours down til we had to depart and hoped that we weren't delayed!
Some us couldn't stay awake
wed3112-1.jpg

So we boarded and took off and we all tried to get some sleep during the 9 hour flight. Well that was my plan but it didn't happen I kept dozing off but waking up 5 minutes later. We had ordered a couple of bottles of champagne after take off and when we landed the captain made an announcement about our wedding and everyone clapped. :wizard: We were both so excited.

We had to wait ages for the luggage cause there were so many of us and then we had to get the keys for the villa and by the time we got to the vehicle rental queue it was almost out the door. Meanwhile the two best men decided to hire their own car from the sales people walking around. We had plenty of room in the cars that we had already got but they wanted a bit more freedom which was fair enough but I tried to point out that they could hire one later in the holiday if they needed to and it was extra money. So they decided against it..
wed3129-1.jpg

Waiting for the men to arrive with the car keys.
mums024-1.jpg

So once we had got all the keys and the luggage was packed up, instructions were given to each car on how to get the villa were given to the cars. We had two mini vans with each Dad driving one and then me and Tim had a car with the two best men in with us. I gave out the maps and went to get in the car we thought it best to go in a convoy to the villa. By the time I got back to our car they'd left with the maps and instructions :scared1:
All we had was written instructions that the travel company had given us. We were in a different country with no clue where to go. We got so lost and ended up on the toll road heading towards Orlando. After about two hours I managed to get through to my brother on his mobile and say that we were lost and they were at the villa waiting for us. We had run out of change and we were stuck at a toll barrier, luckily a car pulled up behind us and gave us some change and we were set off to find the villa. We got there 4 hours late and picked up the keys.
We stayed in a villa in Emerald Island. It was a seven bedroom villa and was huge!

loving the trip report, can we get some more please! thanks

Can I ask, did you pay a rush fee to get your photos and discs from Randy before you went home, or was he just extra speedy by chance?

Orangetiggs: I'll be posting more today yey!

Meryll83: Randy was amazing, he just said he'd meet us a couple of days before we left with all the photos and discs. He had a wedding on the following Thursday so he was at the Grand Floridian for that. We went early to meet up. He had everything there and then talked me through some of his favourite of our pics. It was really nice to just sit and chat to him, he loves what he does. I think if you're their for a while after your wedding he may prefer to meet up with you and give you the photos if you're from the uk cause the albums are really heavy and may cost a bit to get them sent over here??? I'm sure if you ask him he can let you know. We didn't pay any extra for this and Randy said Linda had sent the wrong disc to be printed so we ended up with all of our photos printed. He put them in the album and then we had loads loose.
Stan did the same for us, we had the sneak peak and the album delivered to the villa before we left. Which was really good. For Randy and Stan they offered to get them to me before I left which was great! :worship:

Day 1:

After packing and relaxing the night before we all felt raring to go ready for our first day of the holiday. We had decided to go to Universal Studios and set off early as we had to go and check in with the local tour operators office. When we arrived there were alot of people waiting to see the rep. We had forms to fill in and let them know if we had any problems. As we were happy with the villa and we'd filled out the forms we didn't have any need to see the rep. When we went over to talk to the people at the desk I asked if there was any reason why we were waiting to see the rep and made sure it wasn't to sell us tickets and excursions which we had already organised before leaving the UK. This was definitely what they wanted to do and let us go soon after this. While we had been waiting for the rep. Tim headed off to go and buy two way radios for each car as we were finding it difficult to contact each other while we were driving and hoped that we wouldn't continue to get lost.. :thumbsup2
We headed off to Universal Studios and started our day.

THE RABBLE!

Everyone seemed to be having fun and full of energy.

We seemed to take over the place when we were altogether:
wed3146-1.jpg

mums039-1.jpg

We headed off quite early to find Walmart and seemed to loose ourselves in there we needed to pick up last minute essentials for the wedding. I still needed to finish the programs..:scared1:
Some of the group went back to the villa while Me, Tim, Ian, Schmian & Andy D headed to Denny's to grab something to eat. We had the funniest waiter with us and because it was past midnight it was officially my Birthday so the guys started to wish me happy birthday and it was the waiters birthday too, we didn't know whether he was just saying it or not but it cracked me up the way he was acting. We were shattered by the time we got back to the villa. Tim and I just headed to bed while some of the group stayed in the pool.

Up next My Birthday! Marriage licence & Magic Kingdom..... :cheer2:

Day 2:

My Birthday! Woohoo....

I love Magic Kingdom so I chose to go there to celebrate my Birthday. However first things first was to head off to Kissimmee Courthouse to pick up our Wedding licence. We had arrived on the Saturday so this was the first time we could get there to pick it up. Me and Tim headed off while the rest of the group headed towards the Magic Kingdom.

Marriage licence:
This was quite straight forward really. I guess I was worried incase we couldn't get it or if there were going to be any delays... :scared1: After filling out the form ( twice nerves I guess lol :rotfl2:) the woman helping was great and really friendly and wished me "Happy Birthday!" we picked up the licence and headed back towards Disney. I didn't get any photos taken of us which I regret but as we were on our own there wasn't really anyone around to take photos but then thinking about it I don;t know if they would have allowed it lol But anyway we picked up breakfast and got to MK at around 11.30am. It was really nice just having sometime on my own.

Magic Kingdom:

The group as they arrived:
mums046-1.jpg

mums048-1-1.jpg

I love Main street when you first arrive. It's so much fun..

At the transportation centre we exchanged our vouchers for the annual passes and upgraded them to cover the water parks aswell. We had planned to do this as we wanted to go to them and we thought it would make more sense if we did it. The girl at the counter gave us Just married badges I think I was far more excited about this then I should have been.

We used the monarail to get to the park entrance and got excited when the voice over mentioned the Pavilion it was the first time Tim had seen it in person so he just had this huge grin on his face.. It was so sweet. It had finally sunk in to us that we were getting married. :lovestruc
We switched on the two radios once we had arrived and tried to contact the group to let them know we had arrived. While we waited for them we went and picked me up a Birthday badge and Tim's mum had bought a little tiara for me to wear which had "Birthday Girl" on it. Mum was the first one to come back to us on the radio after we arrived we met them at the Ice cream parlour on Main Street. They said the rest of them were rushing around trying to get on as many rides as possible. I could see Tim was a bit disappointed that he was missing out but I suggested we keep trying to get in touch with them on the radios as they may be on a ride. So we stayed with my Mum and Dad and had an ice cream. mmm! It was just as good as I remembered from last time we had been there. The woman who served us congratulated me on my Birthday, I completely forgot that I had the badge and the tiara on so it baffled me for a bit that she knew. :lmao:

Me and Ian on main street:
DisneyPhotoImage147-1.jpg

We finally met up with the group after we had been on the Jungle cruise.
mums070-1-1.jpg

We all got fast passes for splash mountain and sat down ready for the parade. We stayed in Frontierland and had lunch while we tried to stay in the shade. We hadn't adjusted to the heat yet and some of us started to feel a bit ill with it so we had a much needed rest. The parade was great and we got loads of great photos. Some of the characters came over to point out the birthday badge which was great!
wed3178-1.jpg

We the had a dole whip in adventure land. I was feeling really run down at this point and felt exhausted, which worried me becase it was only day 2!
mums075-1.jpg
But I wasn't the only one tired my Dad was too lol

Splash mountain was next on the list so we used our fast passes.
Group 1: Schmian, Helen, Hannah, Tim, Chris, Rachel, Lynda & Mark

Group 2: Jess, Ian & Andy D
wed3294-1.jpg

We then moved on to thunder mountain. We queued for ages for this and everytime we went round the corner in the queue we thought we were there but it was like constant queues. I was quite surprised that my Dad had come on because he never does rides and normally waits for us all the time but he came too. We made it to the front and we allocated to the carts we were waiting for the next train to come and my Dad was with my Mum. Next thing was my Dad had filled the space on the current train with a complete stranger and was locked into the seat my Mum was like "What you doing????" and before he could do anything the train had pulled off. We all couldn't stop laughing we had finally managed to get him on a ride and he went without us. We laughed all the way round the ride. It was sooo funny, we kept seeing his train while we were going around. Mum was gutted cause she wanted to go round with him but we couldn't persuade him to go back on. :lmao:

Next was the haunted mansion and by the tie we had come out of that it was time to get a place for Spectromagic.
wed3398-1.jpg

wed3408-1-1.jpg

We stayed and watched wishes and then headed straight back to the villa to relax.

Next up: The day before the wedding.....

What a cool idea - renting one villa for everyone. Great start to your report - can't wait to read more!

DisneyMissy318: Yeah it was good having everyone together in the villa but it was hard to get everyone up and out in the morning..:lmao:

Day 3:

Today was going to be very busy as we were going to Animal Kingdom, we needed to check in at the Port Orleans, I had to contact the vendors to confirm that they were all set for the wedding and.... I had booked a surprise dinner for that night at O'hana's as a pre wedding dinner.

We set off to animal kingdom early to try and fit as much in as we could.
101_1710-1.jpg

DisneyPhotoImage141-1.jpg

After taking photo’s of by the tree of life, we headed straight for Everest and picked up fast passes. Bugs life was next and we all bundled in. I sat the whole time with my legs up and my back away from the chair. I knew what was coming up but Tim didn't... :lmao:
We hit the river rapids then and got a bit wet which helped us cool down. So far the weather had been really got and not one drop of rain which was great news. Then we went on everest which was AMAZING….. My favourite ride by far!
101_1727-1.jpg

Me and Tim were heading off earlier than everyone to get back to the villa and pick up the luggage so we could book in to the hotel. We reminded everyone they needed to meet back at the villa by 6pm as we were going out but none of them knew where. So we left the group as they were heading on to the safari ride. We grabbed a bite to eat as we were heading back through the park and made it to the car. It hadn't been as hot as that since we had arrived and we were both sweltering.

As we got back to the villa the sky opened and it started raining. We hadn't seen rain like it. It was jumping off the pool by a foot! We packed up the car and made our way (SLOWLY! we could hardly see where we were going) towards Disney again. We had a map to follow but we seemed to miss the turnings and at one point I asked Tim to see if he could pull in somewhere cause it was getting really dangerous and then we saw the Port Orleans sign and headed in there. By now it was 4.30pm and we were running late. Tim pulled into the foyer area so I could hop out and he went and parked the car, but because the rain was so heavy he didn't get out.. :lmao:

I was drenched even from running 5 feet across the road. I joined the queue for the check in and soon got asked to come over by a young girl. She checked me in to the room and went through the normal check in routine until she got to the checkout bit which would be tomorrow at 11am????????:scared1: :confused3
We had originally booked the room on the same day as we had booked the wedding date, exactly 12 months in advance. So we had a reservation number to give to my planner. We booked me, both Jess & Helen and my Mum in for the night of the 10th til the 11th and then as of the 11th Tim was then staying with me for a further 3 nights. When it had been booked we had been given one reservation number and I thought we would be staying in the same room, we had explained that we were getting married the next day. However this is not what happened, they had put us down as two different booking numbers and two different rooms. Concious of the fact we were running late to meet everyone back at the villa I decided to try and sort this out later. :headache:
I took the key and went out to meet Tim in the car park. We were staying in building one, we went round to put the luggage in the room, we had also booked the room to have a water view but it was facing the car park on the ground floor!

We set off to get back to the villa pretty sharpish!
Meanwhile the rest of the group were still in Animal Kingdom and had got caught in the rain:

Look at how dark the sky is!!!! That was taken at about 4 in the afternoon.

I had booked to take everyone to O'hana's for dinner that evening and our reservation was at 7.35pm, we were having cocktails in the foyer first of all so I wanted everyone to be ready to leave by 6.45pm. Me and Tim finally got back at to the villa just in time. I had asked all the women to wear something bright and colourful and I bought all the men Hawaiian shirts as a surprise. I ran round handing them out.

Tim’s Dad was in the shower and had set out his clothes that he was planning to wear on the bed so I just placed the shirt on top of it. His face is a picture!!!

Everyone didn’t know where they were going until me and Tim told them, they all looked great. We set off to get to Ohana’s with time to spare for cocktails. Luckily we had plenty of time to enjoy ourselves before we were seated.
We had a huge table right in the middle of the restaurant with a perfect view of the seven seas lagoon. I had hoped to be able to watch the fireworks from here but didn’t think we would be allowed to stay as long as that. The food was great and we had such a good night. Me and Tim got roped into the entertainment for the evening, we were given leis to wear and grass skirts and had to go round the room with the host while everyone shouted congratulations. Then we held the pole for everyone to limbo under. It was so funny! At one point Ian and Schmian joined in.

By the time we had finished the main course the light parade on the lagoon was there so we watched that and just relaxed. We were not rushed and the staff were really friendly. I had read reports before we went that it was a fast paced restaurant but we didn’t find that.

At this point I had completely forgot to call to confirm our room number to everyone for the next day. So I rushed to the pay phone and tried to contact them. I knew that Carolyn allens would be closed so I left a message, Stan and Anna from Makeovermajic didn’t pick up and I had written the number for Randy down wrong so I decided that I would try to contact them first thing in the morning. I knew if there would be any problems they could always check at reception for our room number.
So I got back to the table just as dessert was being served and wishes were starting. It was a great end to a perfect night. I would definitely recommend O’hana’s for a group it was great fun & it was a nice way for us to wind down ready for the next day.

We left the Polynesian to go back to POFQ to drop me and the girls off. Tim was leaving his car there so we had transport for the day after the wedding and then staying with everyone else in the villa. It hadn’t really sunk in that we were getting married the next day and it felt so weird to say goodbye to everyone. They kept saying it would be the last time they would see me before I was getting married. :wizard:

As soon as the others had left we got into the room and started to unpack. Wee hung my dress up by the sink area and steamed my veil and hoop skirt in the bathroom to try and save time for tomorrow. The best men had bought us a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy as a present from them :flower3: and we had planned to open it that night but Jess and Helen were so tired they just crawled into bed and were out for the count.

Meanwhile Mum and me headed off to reception to try and sort out the room problem. By now it was 1am and I was feeling exhausted. We spent about an hour trying to resolve the problem but we had no joy. They could do nothing for us apart from offer us a late checkout at 1pm instead of 11am. This to me still didn’t help me as I knew at 1pm I was due to be picked up from the hotel by the limo and I had nowhere for my baggage to go! :scared: It was a complete nightmare and everything seemed to get on top of me. I got so upset and headed back to the room. I continued to unpack as little as possible so I wouldn’t have too much to pack up the next morning. I organised the bags that we were taking the next day and what I needed to hand over to Meri when we would meet her the next day.

My mind was racing in case I was forgetting something. I went out around the complex to get some air and ended up getting to bed around 3am. I just knew that I would look terrible in the morning as there was no way I was going to get enough sleep.!!!

Up next wedding breakfast & "Where is everyone??????" :scared1:

Hannah - I'm so sorry to hear you had problems at POFQ! That is one of our favorite resorts (staying there again this December - yikes!) I don't understand how some resorts (and CM's) will bend over backwards to make a stay "magical" and there are others that just give a "sorry, there's nothing we can do"! (Especially for your WEDDING! Uggh!) Can't wait to hear how it was sorted (and who was late for breakfast!)

It's so true, I guess it all depends on the CM and how magical they're feeling on that day.:rotfl: I'm sure everything will work out ok for you in December. The resort is lovely and if I didn't have such a bad experience I would go back again.
