Hanging up my running shoes-Update on ZellyB

OMG...Clueless GIF AND a Clueless meme. :faint: What a glorious day already!!

20+ years old and it still totally holds up. ::yes::

Good job on the weight loss! I'm gonna need you to send me about 3 dozen of those cinnamon muffins, kthx.

Thanks! I'm definitely making those again, so I'll figure out a way to get you some extras. ;)

I love the bunny in the carrot-cart! (Carrot-Cart made me think of carrot cake... which is YUM)

Your lettuce tacos look delish- can never go wrong with any kind of tacos in my world! Your healthy eating efforts seem to be paying off- can you send some of that discipline my way? ;)

Now I'm also thinking of carrot cake - which is a no no on my diet.

Clueless is such a great movie, B Murph is missed.

Those food pics look delish!

C'mon spring weather!

Happy to see the Clueless love on here. Such a great movie!

It was 62 degrees when I ran yesterday morning - YAY! Cooler again today, but spring is definitely getting closer.

NEW INKnBURN!!!
Plus some Kate Spade

Got some new much anticipated items from INKnBurn yesterday. The company had a 30% off sale recently and I couldn't resist a sweet deal and decided to try a couple of items I've not purchased from them before.

First up - Bee Skirt
IMG_3690_zpsnuvlnnj0.jpg

Sorry for bathroom pics.
I really love this skirt. It's definitely lighter-weight than my sparkle skirts and I like that the back is slightly longer than the front. I'm anxious to give it a test run and really hoping the legs stay put because I could definitely see ordering more of these.

Next up 1124 pants

IMG_3695_zpsw6h2ma7r.jpg

Also loving these. They are soft and super comfortable, but I'm a little paranoid about the snug fit. I mean it's stretch fabric, and I did order up a size, but a little worried about how it looks on my hips. Still with a longer shirt, I think I can get over my paranoia. They feel amazing though. They are just a bit long, but not too bad and not enough that I think I'll need to worry about hemming them. I'm really pleased with both purchases, although that may not be a good thing for my pocketbook. :P

Lastly, I was looking for a purse for my mom for Mother's Day and got a 75% off surprise sale notice from Kate Spade, so I bought my momma a purse (with some help from my sisters and dad) and then couldn't resist one for me. Tada!!

I really need to stop spending money now!!!

WOW!! Both articles InB look amazing on you!! My "jeans" arrived yesterday, but I haven't tried them on yet! Excited to get home to them, they felt really soft :)

It's really that softness that sold me quickly on them even if the fit has me a bit nervous. I hope you love yours.

Love both of your INB pieces.... but that purse really gives me all the

It's so cute, right? I knew when I saw it that it would be hard to resist. Plus, my mom's purse alone wasn't enough to trigger the free shipping, so I sort of had to buy it save money. Right?

OH. EM. BEE!!

Both INB pieces look fabulous on you. I think I have said this to you before, but coming from SparkleSkirts, the shorts took some getting used to for me because they are SO much shorter. And mine do move around a little bit until I get sweaty, so I use some Body Glide (makes me wonder if I actually need a size down in the skirt? But then I don't think it would look good...because butt. Sigh). But I really prefer these skirts for hot weather runs because, like you said, the fabric is lighter. ::yes:: I do miss the zipper pocket though - I hope they incorporate something like that in the future. Not gonna lie, I'm a little jealous of how awesome the skirt looks on you, and a little jealous that you don't need to get your pants hemmed. I thought I could get by without having mine hemmed but I almost ruined my Rose denim pants this past weekend because they're too long, so off to the tailor I go.

THAT PURSE THOUGH...:faint: How friggin cute is that? Perfect for spring and what an awesome Mother's Day Gift! (I got my momma a purse too, but from Harveys). BRB going to check out that sale!!

Thank you! I'll be sure to use Body Glide as I adjust to them, but the weight of the fabric I just love. I agree that I wish there were more pocket space, but I suspect I can make that work too, but if they added some added cargo space it would be amazing. I'm not positive if the length will work for sure since I just tried them on briefly last night and was barefoot, but it SEEMED like with shoes on they would be okay. I definitely don't want to ruin mine! I'm not sure it's a good thing that I like both of these items so much. Just means more to buy. :D

The purse, right??? I just couldn't resist it even though I should have.

I LOVE YOUR STUFF!! The skirt and pants are both very flattering on you (I agree that there seems to be a little more length in the back on my skirt too, and I'm kind of very thankful for that!)

I had to laugh at the free shipping logic, because that's 100% the right way to think :)

We interrupt this shopping discussion for a very important announcement!!!!

I WAS ABLE TO HOLD THE FREAKING PLANK TO DOWNWARD DOG BACK TO PLANK MOVE FROM MY YOGA DVD LAST NIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE TIME!!!!

My arms were quivering like crazy at the end, but I did it.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

AND, YES, I REALIZE I'M PROBABLY A BIT OVERLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS.

The Bad, The Ugly and the Pretty Freaking Good
Training Week 3/19 – 3/25(26)

tumblr_ofxdludnRJ1sfj44oo1_500.gif

Another training week behind me and still some spotty results (the BAD). ACK! Seriously not sure why I’m struggling with consistency so much right now. But, the week at least finished up on a good note!

Sunday 3/19 – Still no bike ride today. I think I need to give up on the trainer and just try to get outside to do it. Maybe that will hold more appeal for me. :(

Monday 3/20 – Strength workout. Nothing too exciting to mention. It all went well. Definitely seeing some improvement in my strength overall I think, but then again, I was so stinking weak that may not be saying much. Still, growing stronger regardless is a good thing!

tenor.gif
Weight gain/loss -1.2 lbs. for the week. -4.8 lbs total. As expected, the weight loss slowed down and leveled off over the second week, but still a loss and good progress in 2 weeks time. For some good reason, I fell off the wagon a bit over the weekend (the UGLY), but can’t be perfect all the time.
Calories - 1,093
Carbs – 28g
Tuesday 3/21 – 4 mile run still sticking with 90/30 intervals. Good run and some pleasant temps. Pace of 11:03. Yoga in the evening and it’s going well.
Calories - 1,254
Carbs – 28g
Wednesday 3/22 – No strength training today. Early AM meeting for Chris. My intent was to do it that evening at home, but I didn’t. BOO! Since we bailed on strength training in the morning, we did yoga that evening and as I posted above I was triumphant in my plank/downward dog/plank move. HURRAY!!
Calories – 1039
Carbs – 22g
Thursday 3/23 – We didn’t run and I have no good excuse. I’m feeling in a bit of a rut and struggling to pull myself out of it. No yoga either since we’d done it the night before. Basically we were slugs.

giphy.gif

Calories - 1,013
Carbs – 38g
Friday 3/24 – Rest. We headed down to Bentonville to visit our dear friends there and celebrate her 50th birthday. We went out that night and I fell off the carb wagon a bit in favor of some tasty libations. Maybe a few too many. The UGLY!!

giphy.gif

Calories – 1942
Carbs – 67g (total estimate – and probably low-ball since I can’t vouch entirely for what was in some of those drinks)

Saturday 3/25 – No run although we did continue the weekend celebration with a lovely brunch and some mimosas. Oops.
Calories – 1094
Carbs – 73g (mimosas got some carbs, folks)

So, even though Sunday is official my next week, we used it for our long run instead of Saturday and it was a great way to finish/start the next training week.
Sunday 3/26 – 12 mile run. We did 90/30 intervals but kept the pace nice and easy and I felt great through the whole run! Finished up at 12:05 pace (although oddly when it goes across to Strava it says 11:55 pace – weird). I was much more careful about drinking my electrolyte drink and also took in some honey stinger chews for some fuel a couple of times and it was just a great run. As we were finishing up 12, I told Chris I could easily have run a few more miles and had no issue. True, the pace is slower than I’d like for a race and potential POT half for Dopey use, but it was just so awesome to have a long run like that where I felt good the whole time and finished strong. I haven’t had one of those in awhile.

Yoga in the evening and while I wasn’t sure I could do it, I held the plank/downward dog pose the whole time again. Maybe I really am getting stronger!!

So, while we started out a bit shaky, but things ended on a strong note, so I'm pretty happy.

Nothing too exciting from a food perspective this time around although we did make some kind of mini-pizza things that were tasty. Basically, it’s shredded mozzarella that you bake in the oven on parchment paper with some Canadian bacon sprinkled on it. Once golden brown, we spooned on some hot tomato sauce and then sort of rolled them up into kinda pizza rolls. They don't look fancy, but very tasty!

So, that's it for this past week. Here’s to a more consistent week for me on exercise and staying strong on the diet!!

I kind of forgot what else you posted because those cheese things are really speaking to me... :p

Way to go on a great 12 mile run! I am also in a bit of a funk and had the worst run ever yesterday, so here's to a better week for both of us!

I think it is reasonable to choose libations with friends, in lieu of carb counting, that's real life, not an ugly decision, and strength gains are always awesome, and you'll see the improvements carry over to your running too!

Those cheese things were pretty good. Not gonna lie.

This running funkiness needs to be gone. Sorry you had a bad run yesterday and cheers to a better week indeed!

Some weeks after better than others...still seems like a good week overall! baked cheese with BACON seems pretty awesome, for example...:lovestruc

YES!! Cheese and bacon always win. NOM!!!

I agree on libations with friends. We had the best time and it was worth every carb. :D I actually can start to tell some difference I think in my running based on the strength training. Before as I would fatigue running, I would have a tendency to slump due to my weak core, and it feels easier to maintain good posture even when I'm tired. Success!

POT, Purses and Pixie Prep

I’ve been stewing a lot about what to do with my Proof of Time race for Dopey. My good POT (half PR) will be too old to use for Dopey. It is from November of 2015 and was a time of 2:19:07. I had planned on a local race that is on an old railroad trail (very flat out and back) that is April 28. It’s a half-marathon and I was hoping to at least match my current PR. That time scored me an H corral for Goofy in 2017 and I’d love to have the same corral placement for Dopey. Ultimately I’d love to get my half PR to 2:15, but not sure I have that in me. :D

So, with recovery from Goofy and trying to heal my plantar fasciitis and my recent hamstring strain, pace just hasn’t been coming back like I hoped. And that’s okay. I’m trying to be smart this time and as you guys know, I’m putting in more strength and yoga than I’ve ever done before and even hoping for some cycling as well – if I ever manage to, you know, actually do it. So, I think over the full course of the training season, I’ll be very strong again. BUT, not by April 28. And with that only being a couple of weeks before Tink, I really don't want to push myself too hard and end up with an injury. :faint:

So, I was double-checking for the cut-off on POT submission for Dopey and it’s October 3. In searching through half-marathon options in Missouri, I found that the Mo Cowbell race is set for October 1, in St. Charles, Missouri (about a 3 hour drive for us). Chris and I ran this race a few years ago and it’s a good race with a good flat course and might be ideal to try for that PR. Plus they give you a mini-cowbell at the beginning and before the race starts they play, “Don’t Fear the Reaper” and everybody rings their cowbells. FUN!!

photo1_zps532a7f39.jpg

So, I’ll wait a bit to sign up, but think that we’ll be going for that as a new POT race.

Also, this arrived yesterday.

IMG_3703_zpssivdrfko.jpg

 also slyly fitting in my favorite baby picture of my girls in the background.

Lastly, Pixie Prep. We are closing in on Tinkerbell soon and I’m super excited for this trip. I finalized our shirt design pictures and placed the order for them this morning. They should arrive in a couple of weeks and once we get them I’ll unveil the final product for you guys. I’m hoping they turn out cute. I had a hard time with a good Tink picture for the shirt, so I’m hoping it comes out looking okay.

I still need to order our military discount tickets, set up our shuttle service from the airport and get a hotel room for the night before we fly out of Kansas City. Planning to finish all that up this week. Pixie Dust will be here before I know it.
