Everyone makes them once in a while. But its how you deal with them & handle fixing them that say the most about you.
If you messed up, then I don't want some Mickey Moused tacky way of fixing it. I want it to look like it wasn't messed up. Not covered up. I'm also not always looking for the cheapest way to do things. I'm paying. So if I say I want quality, then I want quality. Not quality with a cheap fix.
Its why I will or will not hire you again.
Happy to say, handyman goofed up & he's more than willing to eat the cost of the error to fix it with a new item. Not a covered up patched up item.
Yes, I'll give a good referral.
I've had handymen who have done bad work. Not rehired.
I've had handymen make mistakes, and look for the cheapest way for them to fix it, but didn't care what it looked like. Not rehired.
So far, I will rehire this guy.
His attitude about it too, while we worked together towards a solution also helped.
