I'm betting the roads are going to be unusually quiet early Friday morning!

DS2 brought home a letter from school - he had three options:
1. Stay at home and go in soon after match is over
2. Go to school really early and watch there
3. Go in part way through!!!!!!

I've never seen him return a form so quickly!! ( Or even remember to take a form in without prompting, LOL!)

DS1 has a GCSE on Friday morning :( ......... it starts at 9.30am - we're hoping for no Golden Goal extra time.

DH is staying until match is over and me? I'll be watching with the option of leaving the room for a bit of hand-wringing and pacing.

Hi Shirley
DD had the same school note I reckon:rolleyes: the same options are open to us, and it was brought to me to sign, all filled in I might add;) for her to go in after the footie. I was actually "Powdering my nose" at the time :p
Holly loves football!!!

Ive booked the day off!!! But ive just found out that I have a job interview at 2pm next Wednesday so WHEN we go through to the next round I will miss the match!!!:( I love football but want a new job more:(

I was planning on being at work for kick-off. I've now got an appointment booked for 10 o'clock 40 miles away, so whatever happens I'll miss the result. Should be able to catch some of it on the radio on the way, I guess. I'm sure my customer can't be English - his team must already be out!

Bit complicated in our house because my DDs schools and the school my DW works at are all doing different things on Friday!

Youngest DDs school are starting as normal, but will let any pupil watch the game.

Eldest DDs school is given them the option of going in as normal and watching the game, going in as normal and not watching the game or not going in til 9:55!

DWs school has had a change of plan since the last match, where they allowed pupils and staff to come in at 9:55 - but apparently a parent complained to the governers about missing 'an hours enducation' and so everyone has to go in at the usual time on Friday.

I'm going in late and having a World Cup fry-up :)
(or grill-up I should say :) )

DP is having the morning off ;)
I'll be watching it in bed lol if i DO get up :p :p :p :p :p

Come On Engrrrrrllllllannnnddddd :jester:

I'll be staying home to watch and going to work afterwards. Eldest DS is going into school at 7am to watch it on the big screen with his friends. Youngest DS goes in at half time to watch the second half in the school hall.
I think its great that the schools are being so flexible. Both boys would be devastated if they couldn't see the match.

My 15 year old DS has asked me to write him a note for school tomorrow morning to say he has a headache/sickness in fact anything will do. I actually think it is a shame, they should all get to watch it. Even I will be watching and I never watch football, and we are in Scotland!!

:p

As i am the ICT Technician at a junior school i will be going in at 6.30 to set up the very very large screen and sound system. We are leting the children in from 7.30. We are puting the match down to history in the making so its educational and fun at the same time!

We done the same for the last match and the kids enjoyed, but i think the staff were the ones acting like kids!

:bounce:

DDs gone off to school with her England flag this morning to watch the game there . . . it's also their charity day, so no school uniform, loads of 20ps for buying/sponsoring etc.

DH is - now - down in dumps cos we've just come second:( (don't like the l-o-s-t word) . . . and me, I'm just getting ready to go off on my departmental "motiviational" cycling around the new forest day. The only bright light on the horizon is everyone else is coming from miles around, I'm already here - and lunch is in one of my favourite pubs;)

And, before you ask - no, I did not organise it:D

Wish me luck cos I've not been on a bike for YEARS:eek:
