Well, the introduction of the FTP has left my budgeting paralyzed! We're planning a trip to WDW for the end of Jan./early Feb. and I was initially going to buy 4 day PHPs, then save towards WL (hoping for room codes), etc. Now I wonder if they're going to offer the FTP for the slow winter season...in which case the money for the PHPs would be wasted (I know, I know, they never expire, but I'm talking about using limited funds for here and now!). Should I not buy anything yet? (Too early to book airfares, too!). What do you think the odds of a FTP in winter will be? LOL!!! Just when I thought I'd gotten my WDW planning down to an art!:jester:
Thanks for your thoughts in advance!

My advice, unless you get wind that the ticket prices are going up, put you money in a savings account and wait. If you are nervous about not booking a room, go ahead and book the Swan or Dolphin which both already should have discounts available for that time period (AAA, AARP, teacher/nurse/govt.worker rates, entertainment card or annual pass).

I was in your boat before the FTP package came out. I fell into the marketing campaign of "buy your tickets before you come to the parks to save money." So I bought 5-day hoppers for my entire family. Then FTP comes out...it seems like a good deal - but not if you already have hoppers! I saw on another board where someone was also in this situation and that poster called the ticket office and they were allowed to return the tickets.

So I called the Disney ticket office myself and they said I could return the tickets, along with a copy of the receipt as well as my FTP reservation number. My money was refunded to my credit card within a week!

Needless to say, I felt so much better about FTP after that. That being said, I will not buy park hoppers in advance again - instead, I'll wait to see if a similar FTP comes out.
