Handicapped Parking or AAA Diamond? Which is closest?

So our family uses parks in the AAA Diamond section, however, this year we are traveling in a van with my mother who has a wheelchair/disability pass for parking. Which pass should we use? Which one is closest? I just want to make the trip easy for her.

Handicapped is closer but not by much except at Studios where handicapped is way closer. If handicapped is full then sometimes the alternate handicapped parking can be a pin if you have a lift van. No room to let down the ramp as the spaces aren't really handicapped accessible.

I asked the same question about a month ago and what I gathered was that HC is closer. AAA( if available ) will be a little further.

Not only is medical parking closer than AAA, but the spaces are wider which will help for door opening and ramps.

I agree with Talking Hands.

The other issue with handicapped parking is that it does fill up at times. During our trip last in late April/early May 2012, it was filled at Animal Kingdom once and at the Studio once, so DH dropped DD and I off and then parked. Ar Epcot, we had to drive around the lot to find a spot and ended up on the edges of the area. This happened during our trip in Sept/Oct 201 also and pretty much happens at least once per trip.

If you mother has a wheelchair or ECV, which you park in won't really matter because the distance walked won't matter. If she doesn't have a mobility device, the handicapped parking does have wheelchairs that can be used to get from the parking area into the park. There is no guarantee that any will be available when you arrive - look for a wheelchair area (similar to a cart corral in grocery store parking lots).
If she doesn't have a mobility device and is able to step up to get on a parking lot tram, parking in the regular lot and uing the trams will actually end up giving the shortest distance walked.
