Anyone have pictures of Handicapped room AKV

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have bought into AKV and will be going in October with my brother who is in a wheelchair we requested a handicapped accessible room with roll in shower. My mom is so worried there will not be enough room to back his wheelchair up by toilet to transfer him. She is also worried about how bif the roll in shower is. If anyone has pics of a handicapped accessible room I would really appreciate it.

I can't help you with AKV. But we have stayed at SSR GV with DS(adult) and the shower worked great. DS must use a shower chair and be showered and there was enough room for his caregiver to give him a shower with no problems. Dsis and I have stayed in a BWV studio and it had a roll in shower and that would have also worked for Dson. We have a AKV H/C room booked for November and I'm not concerned. Susan H.

LOLA2, we have an accessible 2 BR booked for May. I'll try to remember to take pictures of the bathroom and post them although we'll only be there two nights.

What size room have you reserved BTW? In our villa, I've been told the rollinshower will be in the master not the studio portion of our villa. It's on the club level and no studios there have the rollin.

We had a two bedroom handicapped unit at AKV, and the hallway leads off from the living area to the master bedroom. The bathroom is directly across the hall from the master at the end of the hall, and very roomy. The bathroom is like two rooms, with the closet in the first section and the tub/shower is in the back area. There was no whirlpool tub in the unit. The kitchen/living room is very wide open, so a wheelchair can easily get through. the kitchen had a lower counter area by the sink, so that someone in a wheelchair could roll right up to it. We found the unit to be very roomy.:)
