Solo - Any tips.
My DH hates going to Disney. I am in my 60s and have had some strokes. So DH worries that I would not be safe doing it alone. My friends are older that I am and not interested in the mouse. I want to stay on property and just enjoy. No, I am not looking for an companion. I can walk. I just wonder if handcaped ever does Disney alone.

Another good place to ask this question would be the DISabilities board.

I think alot would depend on what your particular disabilities are. Perhaps you can specify a little and then you may receive more answers!

I agree with previous poster, what "accommodations" make it a great trip for you. Do you use an ECV or Wheel Chair? Do you need someone to "drive" it onto the bus for you?, do you need special accommodation at the hotel? This is probably VERY doable at Disney but the special needs board could answer your questions much better as I am sure there are some who have traveled solo.

Thanks for the info and I will post on the handcap board as well. I do think I can do this, but my DH thinks I cannot. I will need him to drive me there and pick me up. I don't talk well and writing is pretty bad too. But I can walk and read well. I would buy a meal plan so that I wouldn't have to deal with too much money. (I am bad with numbers too.)

Do you have any grandchildren who would love a trip to Disney. . .it only takes one to hang with.

I'm a paraplegic and I've done a few solo trips to WDW. But our situations probably aren't very similar, I'm a pretty healthy guy except for not being about to walk/stand. I use a manual wheelchair to get around and have not had any problems at all.
