I have a handicap hanging tag for the state of PA. I am renting a car and wanted to know if I can use it at the Disney parks and hotel.

Hi here is what I found when I researched the matter.
We used ours from NY when at WDW a few weeks ago and had absolutely no problems. This info is from one of the FL gov't websites. Can't remember which one, though.

RECIPROCITY: Section 316.1958, Florida Statutes, provides that motor vehicles displaying a license plate or parking permit issued to a disabled person by any other state or district subject to laws of the United States shall be recognized as a valid plate or permit, allowing such vehicle the special parking privileges in Florida, provided such other state or district grants reciprocal recognition for disabled residents of this state. All of the United States have agreed to reciprocate.

All states in the US have reciprocity with Florida. That means if you have a valid Handicapped parking permit in your home state, it will be recognized as valid in Florida too.

There are several things about the Handicapped Parking for the WDW parks that you should know, though.
1) If you are staying at a WDW resort, you will have the least walking by taking the bus when going to MK. If you park at MK, you still need to get from the parking area to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). From there, you either take a boat or a monorail (up a long steep ramp to get to the monorail boarding area at the TTC and down one at MK).
The MK bus drops you off at the park, close to the entry turnstiles.

2) The regular parking lots are served by parking lot trams; the handicapped parking lots are not.
Some of the handicapped parking lots are very large and if you are on the end of a row or the back row of the handicapped parking, you will have a long walk to the park entry. If you don't have a wheelchair or ECV with you, there are some courtesy wheelchairs available in the handicapped lots. There is no guarantee there will be one available when you get there though.

3) If you don't have a wheelchair or ECV with you, Disney actually recommends parking in the regular lot and using the parking trams if you are able to step up onto the tram and ride it. The parking lot trams leave you off the closest to the entry that you are going to get.
The parking lot CMs save parking spots on the end of the row closest to the tram stops for people with mobility disabilities.

Kudos to the OP for such a great question. I will be taking my mom with us this fall and she has need for handicap parking. I never thought about that while traveling! (she has a "handicap license plate") So usually she just parks and goes, dont mess with an mirror handicap card. I will remind her to bring this with her on our trip.

Off-topic, I apologize, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't drive with the hangtag hanging from the rearview mirror. That is one of my HUGE pet peeves.

I see people driving with those things hanging and it infuriates me. They are actually "handicapping" themselves by blocking some of their visual field, making them less-effective drivers.

I am glad to learn about interstate reciprocity for parking privileges. One of the few times that bureaucacy works!

True, lost* - but at least they didn't refer to it as a sticker. That one always makes me nervous. It IS possible to get square stickers, about 3" x 3", with the universal HP symbol - but these do NOT permit parking in handicapped spaces.
