I have the worst luck! I was sitting on my bed, one foot down on the floor. Went to bend down to pick up our dog, and heard a popping noise and PAIN. I don't think it's a really sever tear. I can stand and walk on it. No swelling or bruising. But it does hurt naturally.

Curious if anyone has had this type of injury before? We have 10 days before we leave. I'm resting it, elevating it, icing it ect... But I don't know if it will be better by the time we go. :( Really do not want to end up in a wheel chair. So bummed out. :sad2:

I have had those types of problems, most depends on how old you are, whether you have had the injury before, taking anti-inflamatories, and how much rest you can get.

Sorry about that. I had that happen to me on X-mas and I was heading out to WDW for the Marathon 2 weeks later. You might want to look into those Icy Hot patches if you're still sore when you go to slap on the back of your leg. If you have a hotel w/ a fridge, I'd bring down one of those little refreezable ice pack things, sometimes they're in the shape of animals for kids; they're less messy than bags of ice and you can just through it back in the freezer part of the fridge.

You'll probably feel even the slightest of inclines when you're walking around, but as long as the injury isn't that bad, you should be okay.

I hope you get better soon.

Thanks for the replies. That's a very good idea in bringing some Ice Hot patches, and an ice pack. I'm using one right now, and I'm sure it will help while we are there. It's good to hear you were able to handle a marathon two weeks after your injury. I'm hopeful I can just handle walking! lol

As long as there isn't any swelling, maybe try getting a massage, especially closer before you leave. That'll increase circulation, loosen up muscles and joints surrounding the area. Just let your massage therapist know about it beforehand. The RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) is good. You can leave the ice on for 20 mins. Also, try stretching as long as it doesn't cause pain. I'm a massage therapist and this is what I tell my clients. If the pain doesn't seem to be getting any better, might want to see a doctor to be on the safe side. Good luck!

Just in case its not feeling better by your trip-
My boss did something to her hamstring a week before her disney trip. she wasn't able to walk with out a severe limp and I knew that there was no way she could walk around the park all day so I suggested that they rent an ECV. It worked out great for her. My DH actually rented one a few years back, he tore his ACL and had surgery on it about a week before a disney trip. He was on crutches so there was no way he could walk. Deckerts surgical is great, they will deliver it to your hotel. My boss rented hers from Disney.
