Which company do you prefer for your home telephone service, if you use either of them...Cox or Verizon? I've heard from my realtor that many lose service too frequently with Cox. Hmmm...A friend tells me it's a toss up for the phone, but Cox is the way to go for internet and cable. Also, does AOL not work well in the area for some reason? I know of a few people that dropped AOL and went with Cox.

I went with the Cox package....when you get all 3 (phone, cable, internet) it's cheaper than doing it separately. I think they call it the digital bundle and it comes with the "digital gateway" for free....it's a cable box that gives you a great interactive on-screen guide even if you don't order any of the extra digital services (I don't). Ask if they're running any specials, since they usually are....

I've never lost phone service except during the hurricane, but so did everyone else Heck, we had no lights or water, either, so the phone was the least of my worries....

I occassionally lose cable (and you lose internet when you lose cable) but that happens everywhere. I haven't noticed it being worse here than other places.

Since I've had cable internet for 4+ years, I won't go back to dial-up, and it's cheaper than DSL....
