Hampton Inn Orlando Mall

We will be leaving tomorrow for Orlando, and will be staying at the Hampton Inn Orlando Mall for three nights. We booked the room at a rate of 45$/night on hilton's website, and then filed for their Best Price Guarantee since Travelzoo had the same room for 35$/night. Not only are we getting the cheaper rate, but they are sending us a 50$ check the day after our stay is over!

35$/night sounds a bit scary-low... and the hotel is about 13 miles outside of the world... but even with the gas we will spend driving to the park, we are saving money! The hotel also has free breakfast.

So why am I a bit nervous about such a cheap hotel? It is a hilton family hotel, after all.

Wish us luck! Anyone have any experience with it?

Wow---great deal! We stayed at the Hampton Inn in LBV (I couldn't resist the $55. room rate for the one night I needed) and would happily stay there again. You should be more than fine, especially for the price. Have fun!

I believe that this is the Hampton Inn that's a little down Orange Blossom Trail from the Florida Mall. It's situated along a busy stretch of OBT amongst car dealerships, hotels, fast foods restaurants, some free-standing stores and some small strip shopping centers.
While I haven't stayed at that particular Hampton Inn, they tend to be pretty predictable basic, lower-end hotels. But they are within the Hilton family and are required to meet standards so the Hampton Inns are generally clean and well maintained.
I suspect that the low cost for this hotel is due to its location. The Florida Mall area, while relatively convenient to the airport and the attraction areas of Orlando, is much further afield from Disney and Universal than several dozens of other hotels. With all of those much closer options available, areas such as Orange Blossom Trail have become second or third tier locations competing for tourist dollars. Generally, that means that hotels in those areas will serve business people rather than tourists but it doesn't means that there's anything wrong with the hotel.
