Hampton Inn Location

While I know that no one has stayed there, because the hotel does not open til the end of April, but I was wondering about the location. The address is 5638 Sepulveda Blvd., Sherman Oaks. Is it a safe area?? I got a great rate of 139/night with free parking. We plan on staying in the area to do Universal and the Santa Monica pier before moving to the HOJO in Anaheim. Any information anyone has about the area would be appreciated.
