Hammock on CC

I read that if you wanted a hammock on CC you had to be first off the ship. Is it really like that? Do you set up camp by a hammock for the whole day, or are there some available when nap time rolls around?

I would also like to know how difficult it is to get a hammock at serenity bay. That is where DW and I will be spending our time on CC!

We were among the first to get off the ship. We took the tram part way down the beach. We went down to the far end of the family beach and just missed the last hammock. It didn't matter, though, we pulled our chairs up to the water's edge and camped out there all day. It was great!

Don't know about Serenity Bay.

That is my one and only complaint about CC. Serenity Bay definitly needs more hammocks. DH is first off the ship to get one. We always tell people sitting near us to feel free to use it when we are in the water or eating lunch.

By time everyone got up and ate breakfast, we didn't get off the ship until 10-10:30. We did not get a hammock on the family beach. We were able to find a few chairs with some shade, but no hammocks.

All I can say is Good Luck in getting one. We have been on two Magic cruises and were up and early waiting in line to get out of the ship. No luck for us.

We read this in a Disney guide book and I'm surprised more people don't do this (guess I've blown it and they will now!). On our June cruise at CC we walked all the way down to the "sports beach" which is just before the teen beach. There were hammocks and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. In fact for the entire morning, we were the only ones on that beach!! Of course, this worked out perfectly for us as our kids are teenagers. Your little ones would probably not be too happy to be away from the family beach. However, you are by the volleyball nets, soccer area and (I think) the game building. We didn't go in there. It was the perfect spot!

There are hardly any hammocks on Serenity Bay. If you are not on the very first tram, forget it!
But I echo what the others have said about the hammocks at the far end of the family beach. Even on the other areas of the family beach, it's much easier to get a hammock because there are many more available.

On our cruise last November, (our 3rd Disney cruise), I was determined to get a Hammock on Serenity Beach. We woke up early, were one of the first off the ship, and hiked to the tram stop, and were one of the first ones on the tram. We ended up being the first people on Serenity Beach, and yes, we got one of the 7 or so hammocks. To be honest, they aren't the most comfortable. We spent most of the time in the water. From now on, I am going to pass on the hammocks. It is great just sitting there in a nice chair listening to the water lap against the shore, or better yet, putting a chair in the water. It was priceless getting to the beach and being the only ones there for a few minutes though.
