Hamilton to Orlando...where do I clear customs?

Hi there,

Merry Christmas everyone! Has anyone flown direct from Hamilton to Orlando? If so, where do you clear customs? In Winnipeg we clear both US customs and Canada Customs in Winnipeg. I have no clue what to expect in Hamilton. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!

According to this list on the US CBP website, https://www.cbp.gov/border-security/ports-entry/operations/preclearance , Hamilton is not listed as having US CBP pre-clearance. In which case you will clear US customs at your first US airport (if the flight is direct to Orlando, then Orlando).

Who are you flying with from Hamilton ??? I'd really like that to be an option for us, but never seem to find flights out of Hamilton that work.

Westjet. I believe it is seasonal.

Just a warning, clearing customs at MCO sucks. If you have a stroller it will arrive on the baggage claim even if you gate checked it. The whole process could take well over an hour. We may have also had bad luck arriving with a few other flights from South America. But to be safe, expect a long process getting out of the airport. We've done it twice and it was more than 2 hours each time. Hopefully you will have a better experience!
