Hamilton to Orlando ?'s

I would like to hear from someone who has flown from Hamilton to Orlando....how exactly did it work when you arrived in Orlando?

I have heard mixed reports....some say you get your luggage and take it to DME, others have said you pick it up but can drop it off right away. Any first hand reports?

no help here, but i live near Hamilton, and i love the airport here. Very easy to fly out of compared to TO. But not sure how it works to Orlando. If you haven't booked flights yet, did you check Buffalo? I flew 2x to Disney via Buffalo, and it was great. Hopefully someone else can give you more about flying to orlando from Hamilton

Our flights went through Hamilton in Feb and here's what I remember.

Our flight arrived at the normal Westjet gate and as we departed the plane we were directed along a secure hallway. After a short distance there was an escalater down to a very long hallway toc US Customs. Everyone seemed to wait in the first 3 lines for customs even though there were 6, so we went farther down to an empty line. After getting your passports stamped is when you get your luggage and finish clearing customs. After going though the customs you drop off your luggage for transfer to the main terminal. After this, you have to clear security again, so make sure you don't have a bottle of water in your carry-on that you purchased on the flight, opps. After clearing security, board the tram to the main terminal and wait for your luggage again.

It was all very easy, but go to the restroom before you land, I couldn't find one until after customs.

It also only took us 30 from landing until we got to the main terminal, but we only had carry-ons.

According to their website they will. The Magical Express FAQ has a question on this for international travellers where they state that after you re-check your luggage at customs, you can go straight to the welcome center and Disney will retreive your luggage from the baggage claim.

I saw plenty of luggage with ME tags going back onto the belt, we only had carry-ons so I can't say for sure.
