I bought a ten pound spiral sliced ham at Sam's last weekend and it's in the freezer. Do you think I could put in in the crockpot (thawed of course) on Thanksgiving morning and cook it that way? I'm trying to free up oven space.

Of course I haven't seen it if will fit, that could be a problem. :o

I've done hams in my crockpot before; both boneless and bone-in. They've always turned out really good. I just can't remember how long it took for them. The last half-hour, I usually make a glaze of mustard and brown sugar. I pour it over the whole ham and let it go. Everyone loves them.

That's why I love my crockpots. Makes cooking easy!!

Good luck!!

I haven't done it myself, but couldn't imagine why you couldn't. Also, I found this: "I do not know if anyone else has tried this, but I cooked a spiral ham in the crock pot for a Thanksgiving pot luck at work. It turned out absolutely wonderful!!! I let it cook for several hours overnight on low, & added the glaze in the morning before I went to work. It was great, I got several requests for the 'recipe'. Enjoy this yummy & super easy ham!"

Thanks, I think I will give it a shot. It's pre-cooked anyway I think, so how bad could it be? I'll just add the glaze at the end.

We're eating around three, so I'll pop it in when I get up the in the morning and it should be fine on low all day. Sure hope it fits!

If you're short on oven space use your crock pot - I do it all the time and it's perfect - just remember to add about 1/2 cup of liquid (water, gingerale, whatever) to keep it moist. Pop it in and let it go ...
