Halloweentime with Mickey PTR ***complete!~TR link added- post #205***

SO.... considering DCA... I shall do some 'out-loud' thinking on the subject. Although I'm not thinking I'm typing but that's practically synonamous with me anyway.

So thinking of DCA and what did we do in '06? Herm.... we did Playhouse Disney Live and Monsters, Inc. in Hollywood Pictures Backlot.

King Triton's Carousel....
We did the bumper cars in A Bug's Land....(name escapes me at the moment) and saw A Bug's Life. We did Chew Chew's train. Rach saw the stage show of Flik and Atta.

We played games on the boardwalk..... watched a Brother Bear totem ceremony... Saw Block Party Bash and the Electrical Parade. I think this afternoon we took a big afternoon break for a nap for Rach and dinner outside of the park.

Geez, we really missed a lot. I'm glad I wrote that out. It really puts things in perspective for me that I don't want to miss. Turtle Talk, Disney Animation Studios, Aladdin Show at the Hyperion Theater. The Sun Wheel, more of the rides for the kids in Big's Land, of COURSE the new Toy Story Midway. DS is get's very googly-eyed at pretty girls so  the Ariel's Grotto PS's might not be a bad idea after all. I really want to skip the Princess Fantasy Faire at DLR because it's at 9am and I don't want to spend any morning in a line so I think that will be a go.....

Ok, while I mull all of this over, thought I'd give you guys some pix from DCA from 2006. I have a ton from the Block Party Bash but those are a dime a dozen.....

Ok.... that should tide me over for a little bit while I mull over the 1 day touring plan. Keeping in mind that Friday night, during the ToT party, we'll be able to do some of the things actually.....but maybe not- I'll let the kids decide mostly...

Julia,
You can't miss Soarin over California. It is an absloute DO NOT MISS on our list. I can't tell you enough how wonderful that ride is. Even my 71 year old Mom considers this a do not miss.

Oh yes yes yes yes! I did do Soarin' and ToT w/my DFIL and DSIL- that's when DD saw the Atta/Flik stage show w/o me. No way I'd miss those! :cool1:

What's better is this year- the kids get to do them too! Don't know how I'll get the kids on ToT but they're pretty psyched right now. We'll see in 4 mos. :rotfl2:

Both mine have ridden ToT since they were tall enough -- Connor doesn't necessarily care for it, but Chelsea is my thrill seeker.

Great pics from DCA -- you and Rachel look like you had a blast!

Great pixs. I'd love to go during Halloween, but that our busiest time of year for our business.
We always go right after Thanksgiving.
Great weather

They've both watched the Youtube versions and laugh giddily in anticipation, so if we can get through the spooky intro & buildup, than they'll be fine, I think.

Yea, Rach & I did have a blast. Only thing missin' was the men in our lives and they won't be missing this year! ::yes::

I can't wait to go during that time some year!

Thank goodness for youtube -- that place is the best for finding ride videos!

Hurray for all your family being there this year! That will be the best part!

Julia! I've been following your PTR since you started, but who knows why I have not posted anything! Doh!

You and your family is just beautiful! Your little girl is a doll!

I hope you have a wonderful time, but you'll be hearing from me a lot more until you leave!! Woop!

The first time we took DD's and DS to Disneyland youtube was not an option so we had Disneyland sing along with Grim Grinning Ghosts and the outside of the Haunted Mansion in it so I had them watch that video and they loved it and watched it over and over and over again. To this day seven years later I know every word of every song still. Our youngest DD who was 7 almost 8 freaked out inside the elevator or stretching room on the Haunted Mansion. I had to literally hold on to her because she wanted to leave so badly. For three years she would not go near the ride and I felt like such a bad Mom for making her ride it. Then in December of 2005 we went and the Haunted Masion was done up for the holidays and we couldn't keep her off of it. Then when we went in March last year she loved the regular Haunted Mansion. That was at age 12 almost 13 years old. Her older sister who had just turned nine in 2002 layed her head on her partner for the rides lap on the Pirates of Caribbean she would not look at anything at all. I was afraid of Pirates when I was 7. Every child is different. Our DS has always loved the rides the scarier and the wilder the better. We have a 6 Flags in one of the neighboring towns and DS and DH go on the wild rides and DH closes his eyes not DS. And he is just turning 11. Good luck with your kids. As a side note last year when we went in March DH, DD then 12 and DS then 10 did TOT, DD 13 would not do it so I sat with her. She went with her high school band in December and she absolutely loved it. Kids you just never know.

You know what, Michele? It hadn't even occurred to me that I could also learn some Disneyland songs word-for-word with the kids by getting those videos- I'm so getting them now! :hyper:

We also have the Disneyworld Camping Sing-along. My 15 year old DD still loves them. And believe me they are not her normal style of music. She leans towards "Screamo."

and Everything Guide To Disneyland:

(the two guides I invested in that I looooooooooove) to plan our Saturday at DCA. HOWEVER, I spent most of the day with my eyes on Rach:cool2: so she wouldn't drown. Aren't I a good mommy? After that, we watched the boats being brought in from the lake, :boat: threw rocks in the water, and bought some ice cream.

After that, we went over to Michael's Craft Store where I used an AWESOME 50% off coupon to buy this:

yhst-57587333958251_2000_101826070

for just $5!! And some Disney stickers to go with it. I've decided to scrapbook the 2006 pictures. I've never scrapbooked anything before so you guys are in for an earful this summer as I get going with that new adventure.

We only got home about 45 minutes ago and we are feasting on an oh-so-nutritional meal of pizza and I'll have to get her off to bed soon.

I might say though :offtopic: it is SO NICE to finally be rid of our high of 65 days and low of 35 nights. Which, was only like, 5 days ago. :rolleyes2

But here's as far as I got:

Saturday we'll wake up and have whatever quick thing we have in the room or grab something on the way or at Baker's Field if anyone is REALLY complaining, honestly, we aren't big breakfast people, DH is, but the kids and I don't usually get around to thinking about food until we've been up a few hours. Drinks is another thing entirely, so my breakfast will probably be from
Schmoozies in Hollywood Pictures Backlot, where we will head first.

We'll grab FP's for ToT right away, and ease into the day by doing Monsters, Inc. and checking out Disney Animation and Turtle Talk w/Crush! I can not WAIT to see that-- I'm just too too excited. We'll check out the wait time for ToT and maybe do stand-by, and get in line for good seats for Aladdin's first show of the day. We'll save Muppet 3-D for later on in the day, and we'll be skipping Playhouse Disney, Rach has seen the promos for it and has informed me she is officially too old for it. ;)

After that- PS ressies for Ariel's Grotto for a late lunch with the Princesses. I can't wait to see how DS6 acts with that one. He has quite the wandering eye already. He is in love  with my DH's friend's girlfriend- even asked for the digits! :lmao: Chip off the old block, I tell ya-- :love2:

After that-- well, I didn't get any farther than that today. So I'll keep you in suspense... WHERE will they go next? WHAT rides will they brave? WILL they get wet? WILL they soar over California?

To Be Continued.....:charac2:
