Halloweentime with Mickey PTR ***complete!~TR link added- post #205***

Thanks for checking out my TR!

As for tips, not sure if I have many....

something I wish I had done was slow down and smell the roses, or, in true Disney fashion, soak in the magic! I was so worried about making sure we saw all we wanted and did all we wanted, I forgot to slow down and take in some of the detail - only now, going through my photos, am I beginning to appreciate what a magical and special place DL really is, for kids and adults!

As for the menus, you sound like me! Though I went one step further - I actually printed each menu,:upsidedow so I could have them all with me at the hotel and review them every night so I could write down what menu choices would work for our family (the idea was that dh could go up and order while I stayed at the table with the kids, but that never happened! )

We loved:
Carnation Cafe
Goofy's bfast
Red Rocket's (chicken fusili absolutely fabulous!!!)

Don't miss:
Dole whips
Tigger Tails

And let me know how Minnie and Friends goes - I think I really want to try that one next time - sounds like the characters there would be right up my kids' alley!:yay:

Thanks for the tip on LAX

Here is a Dole Whip on me....lol

DUDE why'd you steal my Dole Whip pic?? I never heard you ask permission for that!! :rotfl2:

So I just read your PreTR through! Sounds like you're off to a great start! Sorry about having to re-make your binder cover but the 2nd one looks really cute!! I want to go to WDW (or DL) SO bad for a Halloween party but I dunno when we'll make one of those! Hopefully soon!! I wanna dress up and have fun!!

Your restaurant choices sound great, too! Darnit...I KNEW I forgot something off of my list! It was a Mint Julep! I never saw the place that was selling them so it made me forget!

Ah well...next time!! :rotfl2: (I say that a lot, don't I?) :rotfl2:

Hi, I added a footnote to the picture to give Karen credit for the picture and for some reason it didnt transfer with the picture...I am new to posting pictures to the web...do you know what went wrong with the footnote? I can go take down all the pictures if you want? Sorry to be such a problem.

I'm on board for the PTR! Something GREAT to get y'all in the mood would be "Happy Haunting Party at Disneyland SingAlong". We just finished watching it (yes, on Memorial Day weekend :) ) and my girls just love it. We bought it a few years back but an Ebay search might find it for you!

Agree completely with this...the chicken pasta was the BIG hit at Red Rocket's with my DS (15) We had to go back and get it again!
And I've said it before, but Dole whips Rock!!:thumbsup2

Great fun reading so far. I so love Disneyland and DH and I are going on our second honeymoon in September so I came tonight to start my pretrip report and I started reading everyone elses. Now I am going to have pre-trip report envy.:rotfl:

Well, than- here's an official:

:welcome:

"Next time's" are the best! I'm purposefully leaving some for this trip to leave room for an adults-only trip or a SOLO TRIP or a future DisGirls Meet trip. Stuff that the kids wouldn't be that into at this point. Like innoventions, and 50 years.... and the winery stuff. Also the theater on Main Street- the kids will watch for, oh, 2 or 3 minutes and be ready to move on- so that's a def. "Next time". Gotta love those! :bitelip:

I found it on Amazon!!

I'm SOOOO gonna get that closer to Sept/Oct!! I love Amazon. Any movie you want they have. Sometimes better than Netflix! Great tip and

Yummmm.... that sounds good. :thumbsup2 My hubby's not a big fan of chicken but I'll def. look into that menu though. Thanks for the tip! :woohoo:

Hi! I just found your PTR. I am loving it so far. I hope to get to Disneyland someday...so I will live through you for now. :goodvibes

:welcome: Yes, you MUST get out there! It's so great and different! I can't wait to get out to WDW now, either- thanks to everyone's TR's!! :rotfl2: But a trip to the land and the streets that Walt walked would complete your love of the Disney! :cloud9:

:welcome: Michelle!

I subbed yours to get on board there tonight too! I can't wait to plan an adult's only trip! :lovestruc
Looks like you're a veteran so please give me all the tips you can!

I just watched this biography on Walter Elias Disney. It was narrated by Dick VanDyke and I HIGHLY recommend it for any fans of the man, or of Disney in general. It is really interesting to know where he came from, how he got started, when Mickey was conceived, etc. There's a lot of home video footage and it's just really charming and wonderful.

Some tidbits- did you know that Mr & Mrs. Disney's second daughter is adopted, and why?

Do you know what the inside of Walt's apartment looks like, above the firehouse? Well, now I do- thanks to this movie!

Anyway- I just wanted to recommend it to you guys while I compile my Day 3 Itinerary for DCA- these 5 (count 'em- FIVE::yes:: ) days off have been rediculously busy! I did take one day to just solely veg, but I haven't stopped picking up after this family the whole time and the laundry STILL isn't put away:laundy: , there's constantly one MORE load of dishes to do , and the floor STILL needs to be mopped :furious: .

Although I did get some planting done yesterday, before it rained last night. :worried:

You know...I bought this movie off of Amazon about a year ago and still haven't sat down to watch it. I will have too. I have been meaning too but it's one of those things that just slips away from you.
If you liked the movie then I bet you will really like this book. "Walt Disney: An American Orginal" by Bob Thomas. It is an excellent book and I think it does Walt a lot of justice!

Hey all- just found this - thought you might want to check it out. I can't WAIT for the new DCA expansion to be completed. It's another "reason to go back!"

As if I need reasons.....

Wow! That's amazing. I didn't realize they were doing that much work to the park. I guess I will just have to delay my Disneyland Trip until after it's completed. The only thing I am not sure about is the Cars land...ehhh.

Thanks for the DVD and book recommendations -- I love watching/reading anything to do with Disney!

I totally know what you are talking about as far as picking up after the family -- this is my third day off, and I feel like the majority of the time has been spent cleaning and cooking meals. I think we need to lay some ground rules for the summer (which we have to do at the start of every summer). :sad2:

Well I figure all the time I am just learning about my happy place. Disneyland is my favrite place and I have been going for almost 40 years. One thing I don't remember reading in your pre-trip report is the Princess review for DD. DS may get bored at it but there is the Jedi and the Indiana Jones show for him. Also the Mickey pancakes at the Riverbelle are a fun and pretty reasonable breakfast. It is a must do for us when we have our kids. And they are teenagers. I love the character meals at Goofy's Kitchen we have done three birthdays there and we are never disappointed. I am enjoying your report.
