What to do on halloween night

I know MK has the halloween party but I was thinking of doing that another night and seeing what else we could do

Dose US / IOA do anthing
or what about Downtown has any one been there on Halloween night

Thanks anyone for your help

us ioa have a great night,

i dont know if its suitable for the very young, but if its just you or if you have older kids you will love it

I agree. We usually do mnshp on another night and go to downtown disney on halloween. If you are staying in wdw hotel they usually do something there. We stayed at CBR in 2004 and it was great for the kids. They had a DJ and design pumpkin competition. There were lots of creative stations for the kids and a great atmosphere. :cheer2:

also try celebrations, the houses look fantastic, all dressed up! and you can trick or treat there! kissimmee oldtown is great to go to as well, as evewryone is dressed up!

Universal does the Halloween Hororr Nights. This is more for adults than children. It is a fantastic night and if you get a chance I would recommend it :goodvibes If you are a fan of podcasts, there is one for HHN #15, might give you an idea of what to expect :thumbsup2

Seaworld also has a Halloween night too :)

Just to agree with Netty realy....Celebration looks great at Halloween time. We had a lovely afternoon looking at all the house decorations and lights as well as browsing the shops there.
Got some great photos of the kids at the pumpkin patch ...they grow them big out there!! the ones in Tescos looked tiny on our return.
Also i hear they have autumn leaves falling and hayrides on selected autumn nights. Its a great time of year to go and Mickeys Halloween party is not to be missed.

Seaworld was good fun for halloween last year.
They do a halloween spooktackular which is very much aimed at kids.
The kids had a bucket given to them which they could present at various stations for trick or treat sweets, and the park was decorated with pumpkins and scary pirates etc.
Being seaworld the pace is alot more leisurely as well which is sometimes welcome.

Busch Gardens usually do something - sounds as if it is along the lines of HHN, though. I haven't been, so can't comment personally, but remember seeing it advertised when we were in Florida over Halloween in 2002.

Fort Wilderness also run "Haunted Hayrides" apparently - there is information about this on www.wdwinfo.com. :teeth:

We stayed at POR (FQ), it just so happens that in the Winter they have a camp fire thing, near the fishing hole. The usually start it on Halloween, with a Halloween theme. We went to Sea World during the day and then to this in the evening. It was a bit of fun. And we learnt how to make smors (?spelling). A toasted marshmallow with lump of chocolate between 2 graham crackers.

:) Chris

thanks everyone looks like there is a lot of extra things happen everywhere :thumbsup2

this is a restaurant version of a smore but is in no way a smore.....any red blooded american who was in girl or boy scouts knows how to make a smore..
you take a graham cracker and break it in half....
you take a hershey's chocolate bar (only hershey's is appropriate for a proper smore), and break off from it a piece that just covers the half graham cracker......then you put a marshmallow on a stick and roast it over your campfire......when it is just right, you put the gooey roasted marshmallow on top of the chocolate (that's on top of the graham cracker half), then you cover it with the other graham cracker half and squeeze down so that the marshmallow spreads out within the sandwich and voila.....eat....that's a smore....not that thing in the picture....

I've heard that in addition to the halloween party at the MK, WDW is adding another halloween party at MGM. Supposedly this will be a scarier adult version party.

Beth - the picture I posted is exactly what you have descibed, just with some "fancying" up. That's why I called it a "posh" version ;) I have got a packet of Russell Stover's S'Mores in front of me and they look exactly like what is in the picture above, just without the sauces etc.

Sorry for going OT jns!

No, the only true smore is the one you make fresh at your campfire. the one in the picture is about 3 times too fat (tall).....it should be only about 1/3 that thickness so that you can eat it as a sandwich that you hold in your hands....

as for the russel stover's version, store bought smores are not smores.....

by the way, your daughter in the picture is totally adorable...

Thanks for the compliment Beth :)

Would you believe, she did eat this in her hands? The marshmallow was quite bouffant when served but when picked up and squeezed into submission :rotfl2: became quite compact :teeth:

If you think this sounds messy then you would be absolutely right :rotfl:
