Just came home from our trip. Park days were Sun-Fri w/ 5-day park hopper and Halloween ticket. Although they grumbled, my family woke up for the 7AM Sun EMH at DCA. I figured that any weekend at the parks would be plenty busy, so I sprung for MaxPass, which was totally, annoyingly worth it.
As memory serves, as soon as we entered DCA, we walked onto Guardians of the Galaxy. I was surprised by how beautiful the remodel turned out to be, and it is easily my favorite ride of all time. While walking to the ride, I got our first Max Pass at 8am for another Guardians ride. After ride #1, we walked onto Monsters Inc while on our way to walking onto Soarin'. Frankly, Soarin' is not worth the wait times I had been noticing lately.
Here, my memory starts to get pretty fuzzy, but w/ Max Pass, we were easily able to get ride times for Radiator Springs and Toy Story. Mater was a blast, and Luigi is more impressive with its technology on synchronizing the cars than the actual ride itself. I will admit that it's still pretty cute. I pushed my family harder than they are used to going at the parks, so I did my best to keep from continually pressing onto the next thing. Once we hopped over to DL itself, Max Pass was again invaluable. All the big rides were easily within grasp, and it is such a nice perk to be able to pick up a pass from anywhere in the park.
Wifi was very spotty, so I only turned it on to check for availability, and generally ended up using my data. I was able to spare my battery life that way, and I was always able to get back to the hotel w/ some battery life to spare.
Halloween itself was amazing! I don't remember being able to walk onto just about any ride so easily in the past. Character lines were long, but they eased up later in the night. It greatly eased my mind knowing that Jack and Sally would still be there beyond Halloween, so this time, we saved a lot of time skipping that particular line.
Because of dinner plans on Sun/Mon for Fastasmic/WOC dining, as well as skipping DCA entirely on Halloween despite being able to visit w/ our Halloween ticket, we missed Guardians after Dark. That's probably my only regret of the week, but such is life.
We finished up the week on Friday w/ another Max Pass. It was another hugely productive, long day. Everyone was in a good mood, but felt bittersweet about leaving such a beloved place. It will probably be at least a couple of years before we will make it back. My husband said we should go before our daughter becomes a teen and decides she doesn't like us anymore.
