Has anyone here had a Halloween wedding anywhere at WDW or Disneyland? If so, how was it? Do you have any photos?

My hubby and I are thinking about renewing our vows at either location so we're looking for info.

Also, can you get married in front of the Haunted Mansion???

:cool1: We're getting married Oct 30th (because it was cheaper), but we toyed with a halloween wedding...we'll be down there for halloween and we can't wait. If you'd like, check out my planning journal (in my sig), I have a nightmare before christmas theme. :goodvibes

As for the Haunted Mansion, while that would be TOTALLY killer, I don't think you can.... although, I shouldn't say that, you probably COULD, but it would cost you an arm and a leg!!

I am fairly certain that you can not get married in front of the HM at DL.

Although, if you hear otherwise, PM me and let me know!

I will be more than happy to have my VR shrouded in black rags in around or in front of the HM, it is MY happiest place on earth!!

WDW is more flexible, though! So maybe something simply ghastly, err, HAPPY and MAGICAL, can occur there for you!

Good luck!

Disney used to allow you to have an event at HM (and a few other places in the parks). That policy has changed back and forth over the years...and so has the price (at one point, weddings at the castle were $500,000 minimum - no that's not a typo).

I know several people have had Halloween/Nightmare Before Christmas themes.

Anyway, I found a link from a long time ago that has some info:

I think, ultimately, you will have to contact the DFTW folks and ask them...

Keep us posted though!

I have heard of people getting married in the parks before "unofficially." That way, you go to the park with all of the people you want at your wedding, take your officiant with you, and get married wherever. Of course, there are tons of limitations with that, i.e. not being able to wear a wedding dress in the park, etc. Plus, if people saw you, I'm not sure what would happen.

::yes:: Not to mention possibly "banned"

that's a scary thought!

what i really meant was a halloween theme, or gothic...aka not princess! I've already done the white dress, so maybe red white and black :stir:

but it's soo hard to find pics of even nightmare before christmas themes at WDW or Disneyland :(

Scary thought indeed!! Well, we're not doing our nightmare before christmas theme at Disney, but we are doing it for our at home reception! If you check out my pj you can see our nightmare before christmas cake and champagne glasses. I think doing a red and black theme is a positively GREAT idea!! Also, I've seen brides on here with those fantastic red wedding dresses (I think, Maggie Sotero?? :confused3)

I'm really interested to see what you decide -- us halloweeny girls need to stick together!! :hyper:

If "people" saw you, you would be escorted out of the park.

I know, that would be horrible! I'm still waiting to see pictures from the one girl who had an unofficial "in the park" wedding from another board. I've seen no real photographic evidence so far.

 She should be careful where she posts them...

A recent People Magazine special issue featured a wedding at WDW that was all Goth/horror themed. Naturally it was on Halloween. The brides dress was spattered with fake blood, the groom wore a cape, and the wedding cake was complete with spiders, skulls (one wearing a Mickey hat), and skeletal bones as decoration.

 TOO COOL!! We're thinking about going as Corpse bride and groom for MNSSHP... any thoughts on that? I'm worried about ruining my dress (that I still have to wear twice more)... maybe I go buy a tacky one from salvation army or something?

That's what I did! I planned to be the Corpse Bride for Halloween the year the movie came out, so I looked for a thrift-store dress and a white lace corset to put over it. I was even going to wear blue tights, paint my arms blue and figure out how to attach a skeleton arm and leg. Then I got totally overwhelmed by how much time and expense was involved and ended up just wearing a pair of mouse ears and dressing as a Mouseketeer cuz I'm lazy :rotfl:

I have been looking and lurking around the boards for a while now. I am planning on having a WDW vow renewal in 2009 and I was thinking the same thing, I just haven't asked it yet. I would love to have a Halloween themed vow renewal. Halloween is our favorite holiday, it is a very big to-do for us and I thought it would be fabulous to incorporate two of our favorite things. I would love to hear anyone's suggestions onhow to go about doing this.

Thanks,
Shea

Haha, me too. But my laziness ended up taking the form of Mrs. Incredible because I had the Incredibles shirt, a black bathing suite bottom, and what I thought were opaque red stockings. It looked good in person, but in pictures I see from the day... stockings were much more sheer than I thought. If only my friend would take them off of facebook now.. :confused3
