We have a trip booked for September, and were planning on attending the Halloween party. Our daughter will be having surgery so we are going to move our trip to sometime end of October or early November. Does anyone know when the Halloween decorations come down and the Christmas decorations go up? Since we are changing our dates we thought it would be fun if we were able to see both :)

In MK...
Halloween comes down by Nov. 2, Christmas is up by Nov. 7-8.

My little boys birthday is October 28th. I was thinking of taking him from like oct 30th to like November 9th so we could do Halloween and Christmas on the same trip. Haha.

The transformation at MK starts right after the last MNSSHP. The christmas decorations will be in full swing at MK by the time the first MVMCP starts. Last year I arrived on November 5th, and the park was already all decorated for christmas. Not every park was decorated yet, or the resorts, but MK was. So depending on your dates, you might just see them.

Usually the big tree isn't up by the first MVMCP but last year it was. I was so happy to see the big tree as I thought it wouldn't be up.

It will go up after that Christmas Day parade taping. :) If it is anything like 2015, it will all be done in November.

Likely that parade taping will go back to the "after Thanksgiving", normal schedule for 2016. 2015 schedule was unique in that the whole show was WDW due to the 60th celebration at DLR.

Won't know for sure until the schedule is announced, obviously, but supposedly last year was a one time change only because of DLR.

Just know if you want Halloween merchandise, on our trip it disappeared at the stroke of 12 on midnight, October 30....

It doesn't completely disappear, but you have to ask where they hide it and it will be Christmas. I was a little perturbed to see Christmas displays on mainstream instead of Halloween when we were there Halloween day. Disney should know we like those details!!

Thank you for this information.........my family is visiting Nov 5th thru the 12th (Jersey week)........and I've been a bit nervous about the parade taping. Now there's hope.............ahhh the things one worries about with a Disney vacation o_O

Seasonal dining at Hollywood and Vine buffet in Studios will have Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy in Halloween costumes until November 6th. Then they switch to Christmas on November 7th.
