Halloween Time at Disneyland, Oct 16-19. Lots Of Pictures! Trip Report Completed

That is one of the best parts of Muppet Vision and that's saying something. Sam the Eagle is priceless in that sequence.

You all just reminded me that I never made it over to Muppets 3D. I love Statler and Waldorf.

Mwah, hah, hah. Now we've just given you another excuse to go back. ;)

I'm hoping I get a chance to go again in January. I'm supposed to go in February and then again in March. I'm gonna love next year with all its Disney goodness.

We're going in January! We'll be in the parks on the 21st, 22nd, and 25th. When is your birthday?

January is a great month to go. I'm pretty sure that just about all future Disneyland and WDW trips will be in either January or November.

That's probably a wise decision. Our least crowded trip from all the ones we did this past year with APs, was in January. It was cool and slightly drizzling, and empty! I LOVED it. :cloud9:

Thursday October 16
Turning over I looked once more at the clock, the red lines showed me it was 1 AM. Laying there, I debated what I was going to do. Originally I had planned on waking up at 3 and heading out by 4. I reached over to my nightstand and started playing solitaire. Tonight I would not be getting any sleep, no matter how much I wanted it. After quite a few frustrating rounds of losing, I once again looked at me clock. It was 2:30. I couldn't handle laying in bed anymore so I got up and got dressed. Thankfully I had managed to pack and load my car the night before. At 3:00 my mom called me to wake me up. It is possible that I didn't let her know that I hadn't been sleeping. :rolleyes1 I really didn't need her worrying anymore then she already was.
Shortly after I hung up with her I jumped in my car and headed over to her work. My mom neglected to tell my aunt that I was going to be stopping by, so I gave her quite a scare when I walked through the dark hall of the back of the bakery. My mom had a box of treats waiting for me to take on my drive and she gave me two cups of coffee and a bottle of water. Then there was a debate between my aunt and mom of what my favorite type of cookie was...I still don't know why they didn't just ask me, seeing as I was standing right there. I said my goodbyes and was finally on my way.
It was 3:30 when I finally left and on my way I saw a raccoon standing on a sewer drain and decided that it was good luck. The little guy just stared at me as I drove by. A minute later I was getting onto the interstate and dreading the drive.

After many miles I finally got bored enough to take some pictures:

That's after 2 cups of coffee and a Red Bull. I made two gas stops/potty breaks. Then finally the sun came to greet the day!

Getting closer:

I always referred to these as "The Cat in the Hat":

I heard it through the grape vine:

Magic Mountain:

After one too many Red Bulls, I had to pull over for my last potty break. Pulling into the Albertson's parking lot, I begin to hear a weird noise. What could it be? Wait, is that sound coming from my car? OMG! It is! :scared1: My breaks are making grinding noises. I did the only logical thing to do, I panicked and called my mommy. She set my mind at ease and I was finally on my way again, squeaky breaks and all!

36! My favorite number!:

This is how I drive! Hey, look at all the stopping distance I've left, I AM a safe driver!:

The Citadel! That must mean I'm 30 minutes away from my favorite place!:

What's this? Could it be?:

OK, that's enough for now. Up next: my afternoon in the park!

Jumping in late but wow, two cups of coffee AND Red Bull? You sound like me! :lmao: I can't wait to read more!

A safe driver?? With a Red Bull in one hand and a camera in the other?? :rotfl2:

I know that drive through the grapevine all to well. When we lived in Burbank, my mom lived in a place called Hanford, just below Fresno and we made that drive many, many times to go visit her.

I think it's cool your mom owns a bakery. What does she specialize in? Does she do wedding cakes or is it just pastries and such?

Great start so far btw!! popcorn::

I can't believe it's been almost a year since my DH and I have been to socal! I don't miss living there but I do miss Disneyland. It's weird to see signs like the ones I've very familiar with (although I hate driving on the freeways out there...I always took regular streets....Main Street and Ball Road...to Disneyland....haha.)

Admission to the show requires a Red Bull, you can just mail it to me. :rotfl2:

Welcome!

My mom decorates the wedding cakes and my aunt does all the baking. I grew up sleeping on sacks of flour, now whenever I see the big sacks of flour I get sleepy!

Driving on the freeways down there has always scared me. After being rear ended three times and having to drive into Sacramento everyday, I quickly got over that fear.

Good thing you're planning a trip in January! I never liked the thought of being away from Disneyland for a year.

You know as long as the drive to Disneyland seems from NorCal, I think it's much, much shorter than when I have to drive to NorCal from Disneyland.

We haven't been to Disneyland since November 30th, 2007. Which is crazy because from September 2005 - March 2007, we went at least once a week, sometimes more.

We went to WDW this past January so that helps at least.

After our January 2009 Disneyland trip, I have no clue when we'll go back again.

Not knowing is the hardest part! It makes DISing almost painful. :rotfl2: I get so jealous of other people and their trips.
