Halloween Time at Disneyland, Oct 16-19. Lots Of Pictures! Trip Report Completed

I concur with Beth.. it sounds like he was a great man who will be sorely missed. I hope that things will go as well as things could go at a time like this.

Thank you.

Also, I second the audio-book idea. :thumbsup2 ...

You little Mrs. are a BAD influence! I told myself I wasn't going to get into that series, Harry Potter was stressful enough! But NO, you just had to keep on pushing it.

So now, I'm working on getting the four books on tape.

I hope you're getting paid for your advertising. ;)

and the candy corn idea.

As Heimlich would say, "mmm candy corn"

and the red bull idea....

O to the M-G! I heart that picture.

and I thought of a candy costume for you...

Haha, I bet no one would know what I was trying to go for if I did licorice. People would probably thing I looked like a cracked out pirate devil.

Hope I can make you smile.

That Red Bull picture got a huge smile out of me. Thanks for making me smile. :flower3:

Thank you Beth.

I LOVED Harry Potter. I was SO upset that they postponed HP & HBP until 2009
GAH!

Me too, I was and still am completely obsessed! I had to force myself to put the book down and go to bed when a new installment was released. I can't wait for the next movie!

OK, so I MUST think happy thoughts. Also, I don't want to have to change the title of this PTR to "One Of The Post Depressing PTR Ever, Please Come And Join Me In My Depressed State!"

Again, I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers, it's honestly kept me sane. :flower3:

So, how about we go back in time again!

Remember when this was once a possibility without having to win it?:

Oh, those were good times, expensively good times.

What's that? You want to go further back in time? OK...

Remember this one:

Honestly, I don't know why I am smiling in this picture, this ride scared the crappers out of me!

Here's one with me, my sister and my cousin:

Oh hey look, it's Splash Mountain under construction:

OK, OK I'll take you back further...

So, I'm gonna try to do my laundry and pack this weekend. I know if I don't do it this weekend then I'm going to be stressing and trying to do it Wednesday and that'll just upset me. Next week is going to be stressful enough as it is. As sad as it is, I'm not looking forward to having to see that side of the family.

Hi Wendy!

How are ya doing today?

I love all of the old pictures. My goodness.......................Fantasyland was a sight wasn't it? All worth while in the end...................but a bummer for those of you who went when it was all torn up. :sad2:

Yikes!! The Skyway!! When I was about 4 years old, my leg got caught in between those hard plastic seats, and they had to shut the whole ride down, and use a screwdriver to undo the seat to get me out. :rolleyes1 I was scared of that ride for quite a while after that.

The Jets...................I wish they were still up high. When I was in HS, I used to wish that I worked at DL, and I wanted to work at the Jets, so I could wear the cool uniform. It was soooooooooooo futuristic at the time. :rotfl:

I wonder if you can get the Twilight series on tape from the library? Otherwise you can get lots of classics, mysteries or adventures. Some of our favorites are written by Clive Cussler. He writes kind of tongue and cheek adventure spy thrillers. Like James Bond sort of. Fun for the road and keeps us entertained.

Take care!

Hi Wendy!

How are ya doing today?

Hi Melody! I'm doing OK today. I'm trying to keep myself busy. Thinks are WAY awkward around my dad right now. I don't know what to say or do, so I just try to act "normal" but I don't want to seem like I don't care...so it's kinda hard/confusing with that whole situation.

I love old photos of Disneyland, they just make me so happy.

Ack! How horrible for you!

When I was about 7, my mitten got stuck on a chairlift, unfortunately for me, they didn't stop the chairlift, someone grabbed hold of my legs and pulled me off as it was making the turn to go back down the hill. :sad2: I still don't like chairlifts and my family was nice enough to keep my torn mitten throughout all these years.

The Jets...................I wish they were still up high. When I was in HS, I used to wish that I worked at DL, and I wanted to work at the Jets, so I could wear the cool uniform. It was soooooooooooo futuristic at the time. :rotfl:

Ha ha, you totally would've rocked that outfit, I just know it!

You know, the darnedest thing happened when I got home. I had books 1-3 of Twilight on my computer. Must be some kind of magic. :wizard: ;)

I'll have to look into your suggestion of Clive Cussler.

Take care!

 One more week!

I love your vintage Disneyland photos!
Have you seen mine?
Here's a shameless plug to my pre-TR

:thumbsup2 I'm now subscribed to yours!

Wow, I just noticed my ticker says "only 6 more days" That makes me a little nervous. This is really big to me, because this is the first time I'm going so far away from home by myself and staying by myself and meeting anybody I know IRL...just meeting the crazy DIS ladies for the first time. So if I turn up missing, can everyone point the police to this thread and make sure they question Beth first! :rotfl: ;)

I remembered the other day that I had a song on my computer called "A Day At Disneyland." I knew it was a long track, but I couldn't remember how long. I opened the file and it was 5 hours long! I'm not sure if I've ever listened to it all the way through though. It's basically all the dialog from various rides and goes pretty much land by land. I was listening to some of it yesterday and it had the old submarines dialog, adventures through inner space, space mountain, the monorail, Capt. Eo, the autopia and the people mover, but that's as far as I got into it. That song alone will pretty much get me all the way to Disneyland!

That sounds like the thing to listen to. I would so love that. My DH would so hate it.:rotfl:

I really love your pictures.:wizard:

:lmao:

MommaU4 took her, I swear!

:rotfl:

That does sound like a great soundtrack!

So you're gonna break down and listen to the series!! The first book is a little bit angsty (ok, it's alot angsty). It's the most embarrassing one. The second one I really liked. The third was kind of all one story instead of threading the elements together and the fourth one I'm still reading.

I wonder how it sounds being read out loud. Hmmmm.....

OH AND... those pictures are so glorious :worship: :hippie: :cloud9:

The top two reasons I want to go to WDW are 1) Bear Country Jamboree and 2) the elevator to the CORRECT level of the Astro Orbitors still exists there.

I'm a sucker for nostalgia. :)

LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!

Do you have roadside assistance????

Road assistance is a great idea. If you don't have it, then buy it right now so it will be in effect when you go down. It is well worth the peace of mind, plus AAA offers some Disneyland discounts.

Astro Orbitor at WDW is up high? I don't even remember seeing it in January. Apparently I am not observant.

That's how I understood it but I've never been there so I'm not for sure either!

I just asked my husband "do you remember the astro orbitor at disney world?" He said yes. I asked "where was it?" His response was "Up on a tower-y thing in tomorrowland."

So apparently it is but I have no memory of it...haha.

That's perfect! Keep practicing that! :lmao:

It's a lot of fun! One of these days I will get through the whole thing!

I'm a sucker for it too! I was just listening to the Country Bear Christmas Special and at the end they say come back and see us soon and it made me sad, because I can't unless I go to WDW.

LESS THAN ONE WEEK!!!

EEK!

Do you have roadside assistance????

...oh, would ya look at the time... :rolleyes1

I know I should have it, but I don't. And I definitely can't afford to get it now. So how about everyone sends me good vibes and that way all of you can be my road side assistance! ;)

Make it involve a churro, that way everyone will think I just got overly enthusiastic and chocked on it. :rotfl2:

I didn't know WDW had this attraction. I've only been there once and I was 4, so I don't remember anything about it. :confused3

I once read somewhere that someone said when they went to Disneyland, they didn't see the Matterhorn.

OMG! I just noticed I got tagged again! I LOVE it so much!!!!!!!!

So much for my secret about the water though!

I'm starting to pack and get laundry done so I wont have to worry about it next week. I'm actually really nervous about this trip, hopefully that feeling goes away by Wednesday. All my electronics are on their chargers right now and I have a few clothes packed. I'm trying to be careful and not pack anything I need, because I'm notorious for that and it's a PITA when your in a hurry and can't find something because you already packed it. :sad2: I still don't know what time I will be leaving for Disneyland, I'm playing around with a few different options. I'll probably just end up winging it and leave when I leave.

I'm listening to "Remember Dreams Come True" and it's totally pumping me up for this trip. I'm excited to get onto Main Street and just sit at the hub watching the people go by.

If anyone is interested, I tracked down where I got "A Day at Disneyland" from and found it. Here is the link with some info about the mash-up and the link to download it:
A Day at Disneyland

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

We're in the middle of a family game marathon! We played Clue and Life and now they're setting up for Cranium! :cheer2:

I hear ya about the being nervous. I raised my DD's alone for the first 7 years and everytime I went somewhere it was, essentially, alone.... meaning only me to rely on. But, those are very much the type of trips that build character! (especially with screaming 2 yr olds :scared: :rotfl: !)

How bout the air in your tires and checking the oil. Those are free things you can do to make sure things go well. :goodvibes

Yeah, I think you win for the more scary situation! Earlier this year I took care of my two nieces for a day, and I got a little over zealous and took them to the Sacramento Zoo, Fairytale Town and then shopping. I could not imagine having the two of them everyday, all day. :scared1:

I got my car checked out last month and got an oil change! :thumbsup2 I'm still going to freak out at every sound my car makes though. :rotfl:
