Halloween Time at Disneyland, Oct 16-19. Lots Of Pictures! Trip Report Completed

I am really enjoying the vintage picture of the DLH. I remember the arcade that was under water does anybody else?

I remember it! I'm almost positive I have a picture of it somewhere. I remember thinking it was SO cool, just because it was underwater.

You mean, these waterfalls:

Those were my favorites! When I went last November I walked from the park to them (which is really a rather long walk after spending all day in the parks) only to find they had closed them for the night!!!
Yes, those! I love them. And at night they are all lit up and change color. But the last few times we went, they had it blocked off you couldn't walk underneath them like in your pic.

You could get close, but not all the way underneath. It was always really wet back in there and I bet they got scared someone would slip and hurt themselves and sue.

I bet someone was acting stupid and did something immature. You can see how easy it would be to actually get into the water from my picture. There's no barriers, no warning signs (No way out! Of course there's always my way...)

...sorry, couldn't resist! :rotfl:

My grandpa passed away today. I don't know what this means for my trip. I am absolutely heart broken right now. :sad1:

I'm SO very sorry to hear that. :guilty:

Were you close? Were there warnings? I hope you had your chance to say/send goodbye/love to him recently. My sincere sympathy goes out to you tonight.

Oh Wendy I am so sorry!!! How awful! Was this a big suprise?

I will be sure to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I sincerely hope things will still work out next week. I'm thinking that it will be double good for you to get away now, and have some fun in your life.

God bless and take care hon,

Melody:hug:

My heart goes out to you and your family. God bless you in this trying and difficult time. Rest assured that you will see your grandfather again in the life to come. :grouphug:

Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss.
Thinking of you at this time. Please take care

Oh no, Wendy! I'm SO sorry for your loss :sad1: I'm praying that you find peace in this time of hardship.

Please, let us know if you need anything!

I am so, so sorry. I lost my grandpa's in 1994 and 1999. I know how awful it is. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Wendy,
I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much to all of you. :grouphug:

I don't even know what to say. I'm so touched by all of your kind words.

My grandpa was a wonderful man. He was always happy and making jokes. He was a man that didn't smoke or drink and would walk 2 miles everyday. He was invincible to me, he's one of my heroes.

We knew his time was coming, but none of us expected it to be this soon. My Nana passed away last year, so I take comfort in knowing that the two of them are together again.

I just feel so sick. I was the one to tell my dad that his father passed away, that was HARD. I feel so lost right now.

I'm so sorry Wendy. :(

I am very close to my Grandparents as well, but they are getting older and I know sadly one day I will be in your shoes. It sounds like your Grandpa was a great guy and I'm glad you were able to share special times with him.

I agree with Melody, if there is anyway you can still make the trip, I hope you do. We'd love to see you, and I don't think now is a good time to be alone.

In any case, I just wanted to say how sorry I am and we are here if you need us.

My biggest concern was when the funeral was going to be. That would either make or break my trip. It will be held early next week, so it will not effect my departure date. Now I just need to see if I'm going to feel up to driving all that way by myself...

Again, thank you to everyone for your support and well wishes.

I'm just so out of it.

That is a long road trip on I-5. You need to pop some loud rock CD's into the car stereo and open that Red Bull. And think about the fact that your Grandpa would rather you had happy thoughts about his life and not sad thoughts about his death. I know that is how my Grandpa would feel.

I know................the drive will be long. Blah! I wish we could make it better for you.

When we go to Vegas next week, I'm bringing a book on CD to listen to. It makes the time go by so much faster. And guess what? You can check them out from the library for free.

Anyway some food for thought. Oh and guess what? I will allow you your Redbull, redvines and candy corn for the trip. :rolleyes1 I'm thinking it might be good for you, at the moment.

Hope you are doing OK today.:flower3:

Take care, and don't forget to get your sleep. Take your own advice, and drink one glass of wine. No more. They say anymore than one glass, will start to rev you up. At least that is what I have heard.:snooty:

I agree with you. I'm really one of those people that tries to keep living their life after something like this happens. Once upon a time I would just just give up on life all together. Now, I just want to keep on moving through life, while still giving myself time to grieve.

Thank you for the permission Auntie Mel. Now I wont feel so bad about my plan to do it behind your back anyways.

The audio books is a good idea, guess I'll have to track down my library card now. I should probably just sign up for a new card.

Don't worry I only had one glass of wine...and one beer...and one shot....

I'm officially out of it. My mind has left the building. I changed my shirt when I got home and I just went to go find it, but it wasn't in the hamper. So I look around the hamper to see if it fell on the floor, nope not there. I looked around some more and finally found it...in the garbage. *sigh*

The trip next week is necessary, I don't want anything stopping me from going. I just want to get away from here.

I concur with Beth.. it sounds like he was a great man who will be sorely missed. I hope that things will go as well as things could go at a time like this.

Also, I second the audio-book idea. :thumbsup2 ...
