We are having our first adult halloween party anyone have any easy recipes thanks cindy

*We have a group of kids over for halloween every year after trick or treating. It is so much fun. I am copying some links to some really easy but fun dishes. We made the witches hats and took the left overs to a nearby nursing home and gave them to the patients that were allowed to have them. They are so easy to make and really cute to look at. http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/Recipe.aspx?recipeid=36650
Family Fun has a lot of great ideas, I made the monster cupcakes for our church picnic cake wheel. http://familyfun.go.com/recipes/special/specialfeature/halloween_ms_food/
I like this site from Better Homes and Gardens, it has suggestions for a Halloween party for "Groan-ups". http://www.bhg.com/bhg/category.jsp...d=/templatedata/bhg/category/data/sc_1368.xml We print up little menus and give even the normal food a spooky name.
Hope you have a great party!:tink:

The above link is for "rats baked in blood." Yum;)

If you go to recipezaar.com and type Halloween in the search bar you get lots of ideas.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for...but I have done lots of things for the kids over the years. Monster toes are always a big hit. I think they are on the family fun site. Basically take "little smokies" and wrap them in a strip of tortilla. Cut out a little space on the unwrapped end, to make the toe nail. Bake them and then squirt some mustard for the toe nail. Always fun and tasty!

There is also a kitty litter cake..really gross looking but tasty. Serve in a new, clean litter box. Search on some of the cooking websites.

Freeze red punch/kool-aid in a rubber glove and float it in your punch bowl.

Have fun!
Katy

I make Pampered Chef broccoli dip and call it "Baked Bogey dip" :lmao:

OMG! You made me spray my drink on the monitor! :lmao: :lmao: DH would love that!!! (Well, at least the name since he's not all that crazy about broccoli.)

Care to share?

Monster Toes

Cocktail wieners
6-inch tortillas
Ketchup or mustard
Toothpicks
Directions

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut a wedge into the end of each cocktail wiener to make a toenail.
2. Cut the tortillas into strips about 4 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. Discard the ends.
3. Soften the strips in the microwave between damp paper towels for 10 to 30 seconds.
4. Roll each wiener in a tortilla strip and secure with a toothpick.
5. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes. Remove them from the oven, then fill the toenail with ketchup or mustard. Remove the toothpicks before serving.

PUMPKIN ICE-CREAM PIE

1 quart vanilla ice cream or vanilla frozen yogurt
1 cup plain canned pumpkin
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ginger
1 large or 8 small graham cracker piecrusts

Take ice cream out of the freezer and let it become soupy. Put in a bowl with the pumpkin, sugar, cinnamon and ginger. Stir, pour it into the crust and set it in a level place in the freezer to harden overnight. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

I NEVER ate broccoli until I had the dip! Everything is chopped really small (using the PC chopper of course:rolleyes1 ) so its not really identifiable as broccoli. It has red pepper and cheese and stuff so it doesn't really taste of broccoli, especially if you up the parmesan:thumbsup2 Now I'll put broccoli in lots of things - but I wouldn't eat great lumps of it as a vegetable, IYSWIM:rotfl:

ETA I don't have the recipe to hand (dising from work ) but its on the PC website under appetisers. It says serves 16, but DH and I can demolish a whole one with crusty bread, and some friends of ours love it so much if they're coming we have 2 recipes between 6 of us (and there's never any left), and that's just one of the offerings!! :earseek:

Rat Stew in a Pumpkin

we're having an adults halloween party with an eyeball cheese ball, rat stew, bloody mary shots in test tubes, bat wings (spicy chicken wings), hotter than hades steak bites, and tipsy tombstone sandwiches (chicken salad and pimento cheese shaped like tombstones), red hot pumpkin seeds and a jack-o-lantern cheese ball. you can email me at: wickedwillingwench@yahoo.com if you're interested in any of the recipes.

Happy Haunting!

i haven't decided on desserts yet but we ordered some custom fortune cookies with sayings such as 'they're not laughing WITH you'...'the voices are real'...'maybe that haircut wasn't such a good idea'...I can't wait to get them.

also, we are doing a mini-candy buffet so they can fill their own treat bags.

Also, you can take crescent rolls, roll them thin, cut them into thin strips and wrap them around a hot dog like a mummy, putting dots of mustard for eyes peering between the bandages.

Or make ladyfingers- take strips of bread dough mulded into finger shapes and use half of an almond (painted red with food coloring) for a nail.

I also like to do a carafe of hot chocolate and have marshmallows that I've rolled thin & cut into halloween shapes with mini cookie cutters to top the mugs with.

But my favorite is the "meathead". A plastic skull covered with jello & strips of luncheon meat (cranberry jello and ham works nicely) served on a platter. Very, very gross.

Love the fortune cookies! And the candy buffet idea.
