Halloween Quest PTR~~THE TRIP IS OFFICIALLY OFF!

After debating & going over everything.....we've decided to go back to the HoJo for our trip. We were going to book thru Disney Travel & stay at the Residence Inn-Maingate but we were really concerned about the walk. Anthony & Addy will be dragging as it is & then ask them to walk half-mile plus back to the motel might have been an issue. So we're going back to the HoJo's where we know what to expect, what we love & truly feel confident in our decision.

So we are booked for 2 Premium Disney View Rooms. We are in contact with the manager to confirm we get connecting rooms......can't be in side-by-side that will not work for us.

Next post will be some pics from our stay last summer!!

Here's the pics!

Getting very excited to go back!!!!

Hi Laurie!

I am here now. I have been kind of out of it with everything that is going on.

Hi Laurie

Michele sent me over (Kaoden)

I really enjoyed your last report and can't wait to read this one

Off to read :surfweb:

I am all caught up now

I am sorry you had to change your dates, that must have been such a disappoint

I have never been to DL, but have done Halloween at Disney world twice and Christmas once and Halloween here is way more fun. I do not think you will be disappointed :thumbsup2

That is so awesome about the relief money. You and your husband are very worthy people and definitely deserve that for all you do :goodvibes

Ho Jo looks so nice.

I am sorry to hear about all the allergies Shay has. I hope the nutritionist can help you figure out a new diet for her

Looking forward to reading more :wizard:

I was disappointed in not getting to go at Christmas but I'm excited about Halloween......at least I get to go at a holiday time to DL! They also announced party dates yesterday & we'll attend twice!!

I hope the tax refund gets here before summer's end.....otherwise I'll be freaking out!!!!! (and thank you for the compliments!!)

We love the HoJo....its been getting some bad press here lately, but I feel confident in our decision to go back.....I'd hate to try a new place & find out I don't like it or the beds aren't comfortable when we're staying for 7 nights!!!

The dr was referring us to a nutritionalist, but haven't heard anything yet....have to get the Oregon Health insurance to cover it. So far, so good....but really want to make sure she gets a healthy balance & we're not missing something she should have. Reading all those labels is a pain in the butt!!!!!!

I'm glad you're here for the ride!!!

Hi Laurie... I saw your post earlier today come across that you changed your hotel. While your 1st place sounds good I agree that it sounded a little far away. Since your littles have been to HoJo before and you know what the walk is like and it sounds much better for you. Plus it didn't sound like you were planning any meals in the room so the kitchen wouldn't have been very beneficial.

We kept going back & forth & looking at other motels across from the park, but we kept going back to HoJo....so I know we made the right choice!!

The kitchen would have been nice for cleaning up Michayla's feeding stuff & storing stuff in the fridge, but we really had no plans to cook. (heck I don't hardly cook at home......sure don't want to do it while on vacation) :lmao:

At least he HoJo has the small refrigerator and you will have 2 since you are getting 2 rooms. Were you able to get the AP/ENt rate at HoJo? I know they had some dates available for early October but not sure if they still did.

I don't cook either. Hubby does but I haven't even done grocery shopping in a long time so not much food in the house :rotfl2:

I didn't even ask about the "retro" rate.......I'm afraid of the cancellation policy just in case something were to happen (like the money doesn't show up). But when I speak with the mgr I'll find out about at least getting the DIS or AP Discount applied.

My hubby is a great cook, so I got to the point of why bothering......lol He works at a grocery store, so he picks things up while there. I love shopping....but not so much for groceries!!

We can't use the kids suite, but thanx for the heads up!! The only suite he was willing to go over the 5 people in was the queen suite (and they only have one of those).

Opps sorry. I thought it was the kid's suite you originally had booked. I just thought of you when I saw that. That is weird though that a "suite" can only have the same amount of people as a regular room.

I know.....especially when they have enough "bed" for 6 people in some of those rooms.......bummer!

You know I was wondering the same thing. There should be something with those kids suites to get recoded for 6 people considering there are 2 plus bed rooms, it just doesn't seem right :confused3. We have 6 and thought we would be able to use a kids suite also. It is quite a bummer. Finals and papers are done so now I can plan and read on the boards. Looking forward to hearing more about your October plans!
