We're renting points at OKW October 29-Nov. 2. So we're excited to be visiting over Halloween but undecided about the party at MK. I thought I read somewhere about a party at the Boardwalk? Can anybody share any information about the party?
Thanks!

Don't stay undecided too long, just book it! my dd's loved the MNSSHP, they couldn't get over the fact they would trick or treat in the MK on halloween! The hallowishes fireworks are considered the best by many, and the parade rocks! It was an amazing transformation. And where else can you hobnob with the Villians!
There is trick or treating at the boardwalk and downtown disney but nothing compares to MNSSHP.

GO! GO! GO! It's the best! We've been the last five years and we wouldn't miss it! Check out the MNSSHP threads in Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies for more info.

The Boardwalk does have a party on the green, with crafts/activities for kids, a DJ for dancing, and trick-or-treating.

The Community Hall also had a party this past year as well, with a ton of different crafts and activities. They also had refreshments, including worms and dirt (chocolate pudding, smashed oreos, and gummi worms) as well as decorate your own cookie (with the supplies provided by the bakery). It was a lot of fun! I hope they do the same this year.

I forgot to mention that all the activities were free! Let me know if you'd like a list. I think I can remember.

The Halloween party at MK was wonderful this year, and the fireworks and parade are great! Plus, Friday Nov.2 was the last day of the party, and they were giving away handfuls of candy at each stop. The end of the night, as I exited the park, they filled my bag with those m&m's that looked like chocolate chips--they gave me 47 bags of them!!!:dance3: I still have some of that candy, and I gave all the suckers to the maid, and all the small pieces were given to my students, so you really get your money's worth!!

thank you for correcting me on my misinformation! I'd hate to have someone miss something FREE! My 4yo daughter had one of her favorite days going to Fort Wilderness for the campfire. We splurged for a smore's kit so the whole night cost $5 and we had 20 mins quality time with Chip and Dale!

That being said...go to the MNSSHP anyway! You can still go to BW on the 31st and the MK party another day.

Our DGC were 2, 3 and 4 this past year, and we only did freebie things with them. There was trick or treating both on Halloween and it's eve at DTD. Great fun...The Boardwalk and DTD had parties on Halloween night. VWL did their things during the day.

DH and I have been to MNSSHP, but for the ages of the kids, what we did was perfect!

We did a Halloween trip a couple of years ago. We did MNSSHP on the 30th and then did the Boardwalk party on the 31st. It was a great combo!! We were also staying at BW so it made it so easy and fun.

Our kids were excited they got to wear their costumes twice in a row! And got trick or treat candy two days in a row!! :)

The BW party on the green had a DJ and dancing with contests and fun kid activities. They also had arts and craft tables all Halloween themed that my kids enjoyed. Plus they of course had trick or treating on the BW and Mickey came dressed as a ghost!! So we got a picture and autograph with him too. Yes, it was all free!!!

Thanks for all your replies. What is the green at the Boardwalk? I'm still undecided but this will help in making a decision...

Just a tip......I find Friday night parties.....and parties that are discounted (DVC or AP) seem to be more crowded. I like to book midweek parties.

Have fun !

We went on a Sunday night last year and the crowds were very light compared to the discounted night. That was so crowded we could hardly walk.

If you're standing near the boatdock with your back to the water and looking at the Boardwalk resort, the grassy area that you see is the Village Green. That's where the DJ plays, and there are tables set up for temp tatooes, crafty items like bead bracelet kits..and more are for the party.

Huumm, the only night we could go would be Friday, October 31. If I had to guess this would most likely be a sell out? Any advice, would you go on that night? It would be myself, DH and DD5 (who loved MVMCP). I guess we could go to a park early that day, then rest in the afternoon and head to MK around 4:00...Too many decisions. Or do a park in the morning, rest, Boardwalk...
Thanks for all the great advice.

You're right that it would be a sellout! We've been on Halloween as a couple, and also with my DMom who was about 83 at the time. It was her first time trick or treating in her life, and the CM's were very generous to her!!! She had a blast. If you aren't overly concerned about "getting your money's worth" and you think your DS won't be overtired, go for it!! Do it the way you did MVMCP!

We had our 3DGC with us this past Halloween week. I forgot to mention that we did have dinner at LTT..on a MNSSHP night. The characters were all dressed up and the kids and we had a blast. We were walking out of MK around 7 and the lights of the party, and the spooky music were a delight to the kids.

Hey Bobbi, would you know when the characters at LTT go into party dress? We were anticipating a 4 or 4:30 dinner on a party night, too early? Where have you done park dinner for the MCMCP?
Thanks.:thumbsup2

I think they are in party dress for dinner for every day from the start of MNSSHP whether there is a party that night or not. Before the parties we usually eat at LTT or 1900 Park Fare if we're doing TS.

Halloween night will be a sellout but thats no problem b/c your on the DIS! The day the advance sale starts will be announced months in advance and you can buy them the day the sale opens like we did. The park was crowded but bearable and the waits were only 15 min long for the Haunted Mansion which was the worst this halloween. The Parade was crowded but worth it. The toontown fair was pretty nuts too... They put a cap on the tickets sold so it stays only moderately crowded, nothing like summer or holidays. Make a ressie at liberty tree for early dinner we loved all the characters in their hallloween costumes.
