Halloween Party Character Question

For those of you who have already been to a Disneyland Halloween Party already, and in the past, I have a question about the characters.

Where are the character meet and greets? Are they sprinkled throughout the park randomly, or are they in specific spots?

I am going to my very first Halloween party, and I'd love to have some idea of where to look for characters.

Also is there any kind of handout with Halloween Party specific information? I'm not interested in trick or treating, but I'd like to see some villains. I know about the fireworks, and the Paint the Night Parade already. Someone also said to eat early, since food places do not stay open late during the party.

You will get a map just for the party. Here is a photo of this year's map, with the locations of the character meet & greets - http://www.mousewait.com/disneyland/lands-talk/648447/MHP-Character-meet-greet.

Here is the entertainment schedule, including the dance party and the Cadaver Dans - http://www.mousewait.com/disneyland/lands-talk/648448/MHP-schedule.

Just in case you want to see some of the treat spots, many are marked by the Mickey pumpkin heads on this part of the map - http://www.mousewait.com/disneyland/lands-talk/648445/MouseWait.

There will be characters at the ToonTown pre-party as well, which should begin about one hour before the party officially begins, although I don't think it is showing on the map. Mickey will be there in a Zorro-type outfit, and a few others.

These posts may also be of help, since it's your first MHP -

By the way -- I've seen you post on MiceChat from time to time (when I've quietly been lurking in the background there, to see what everyone is discussing :lmao:). I'm glad you're part of our board as well!

Sherry: Thanks for all the feedback. This is definitely very helpful. Now, I can go to the party well informed, and hopefully not miss all the good stuff.

In addition to the ones posted on the guide, there were also characters in Pirate costumes at Rancho del Zocalo. I saw pirate Donald when I stopped by the treat trail. There were also characters at the Toontown Pre-Party. If you scroll through Kenny the Pirates FB page (https://www.facebook.com/RealKennythePirate), you'll see his photos from the pre-party.

It's also worth noting that the villains do not meet during PtN...I don't know when specifically they aim to end their M&G ahead of the parade, but they weren't there when I walked by about 15-30 minutes before the parade started. They also aren't out at the very end of the party (I got there about 15 minutes before the end of the party and they were already gone).

The lines for Mickey & Minnie and for Jack & Sally get LONG quickly. If you want photos with those characters you can line up before the party starts and get a head start on other party goers. Last year, the line for Jack & Sally started about an hour before the party start time, so anyone who got there right after the party started already had a long line to face.

So are they really strict about times? Meaning that they will start pictures right on the time the party starts?

Jack and/or Sally are also out during the day as well (so they aren't party exclusive characters). They have an exclusive backdrop during MHP, but during the day they meet out in NOS about halfway between the River and the French Market seating area. I also think Captain America and the Disney Princesses don't do anything that makes them unique to MHP (i.e., I don't think they're wearing a Halloween costume or anything).

Oh yeah, J&S get around on non-MHP hours

Great Picture. I actually met Jack last year, but it was not during a Halloween Party. This year, I want to collect autographs, as well as get pictures. Unless I get frustrated fumbling with the book, pen, camera, and photopass card where needed.

Just for anyone who is interested in Jack and Sally -- MilitaryMouse posted in our Halloween Time Superthread and revealed that Jack and Sally stopped signing autographs at 8:30 p.m. (at the party on 9/25) - http://www.disboards.com/threads/ha...s-now-sold-out.3270919/page-276#post-54499140. The lines were very long. I guess it might be better to meet them early at MHP, or earlier in the day outside of MHP, if an autograph is required..
