Halloween on the High Seas

We are doing our first Halloween on the High Seas Cruise this October. It's 14 nights. Don't have any indication when Halloween will be celebrated officially from DCL. I'm organizing a cabin crawl trick or treat for a large group. If any of you have organized this or participated in this, did you have 2 groups one gives out treats while other trick or treats and then you flipped? Was it done right behind each other on same day? Lastly, how long did it all take? We have many activities planned as well as 5 port stops, including one on Halloween Day, so would love some comments/guidance. Thank you!

I'm sorry I'm no help to your questions, except I would call DCL to see if they have the date that Halloween will be scheduled for your cruise(s). Which ship btw? Sounds like you're doing B2B??

It should be indicated on your reservation online. If you go to the various days individually and click on "Activities" (I think, it's been a while since I've done it) it should indicate what's going on on any given day. On my last reservation the main My Cruise Activities" page looked like this.

When I click on "Ship's Activities" I get this.


Another thought, check the Navigators from last year's PC cruise. Was it during the Halloween "season" see what day they did Halloween on. It will give you an idea of when it might be.

We are doing this for our October Fantasy group, and I have also done it in the past. We set it up where we trick or treat on a sea day from 10-11. We do it all at the same time. You can choose to have 1 person stay behind in your room and hand out candy, or just leave a bag with candy hanging on your door for trick or treaters to take the candy. We have each printed off a trick or treat picture and will put it on our door so that those in our group know that they are at the right room. If you are staying behind to give out candy, it is much easier if the person is standing outside the door so the kids can just walk up to you. So far we have around 60 cabins participating so this should be a fun adventure all over the ship.

We have done 3 HOTHS on the Wonder through the canal. Although the pumpkin tree blooms and there are ghost stories leading up to Halloween, the official celebration is on Halloween. The official candy handing out took place between 2 and 4 pm. We participated in one cabin crawl group-there was a 30 minute period designated in the morning from 10 to 1030.Just one group so someone needed to be in the cabin for that time or leave the candy outside the door. FYI-there are very few children on this cruise and it is the final HOTHS cruise.The crew is highly motivated to dump all the candy.Without actively participating in the ship's trick or treating, just walking between activities, my husband and I ended up with 9 pounds of candy ( weighed it on our luggage scale) We tried to refuse it once it got out of control but the crew was adamant it all had to go and they didn't need any more in their cabins. We were booked on this cruise until last month when we exchanged it for a different itinerary ( we have a total of 8 Panama canal cruises completed on the Wonder and one coming up in February. it was time for a change) Enjoy. This is obviously one of our favorites.

Halloween on the High Seas cruises are not just the cruise that sails over Halloween specifically. One day on the cruises is designated as "Halloween" for those.

Thank you! Halloween falls on a port day, so everyone is saying the ship won't celebrate it on halloween itself?? Even with a lot of couples, it's ok leaving someone back in the cabin?

But it's a port day, so we are thinking it would be the 29th, closest sea day?
