Halloween Mickey Popcorn Bucket

I think it's dumb to make something like that "limited". Disney should have already known how unbelievably popular something like that was going to be and made a whole mess of them to sell all through the Halloween season instead of only making enough to last for like a week. I mean really. You'd think they'd WANT to sell a whole bunch of something that's in high demand. :confused3

I agree, but I wonder if part of the problem is durability. In theory Disney doesn't want to sell defective products, and if only 1/3 of the buckets are salable, that would be a huge cut into their supply.

(That, and of course they wouldn't want to have them out for sale after Halloween, so even without manufacturing issues, I'm guessing they'd rather have 20% too few, than 10% too many.)

I'm on the East Coast and not going to DL until February. Does anyone know of any way I can get ahold of one? My daughter would die of delight to have one for a trick-or-treat bucket. I'm guessing DL probably wouldn't ship me a popcorn bucket but I don't even know where to start to try to ask. Alternatively is anyone going soon who could pick one up and ship it to me (I'll pay, of course)?

Oh man what are the chances of me getting one on the 25th that is when I will be there from Washington State - I need 5 :)

JoRo I am from Bothell as well!

Good luck finding one. They were everywhere Saturday and Sunday but by Monday only 2 stands had them. The caramel corn by Soaring and one on main street at the end opposite the entrance.

We saw employees carrying garbage bags of them on Monday. My thought is the whole lot is defective and its only by luck that some stay together at all. If you look inside the two halves are supposed to be held together with some tabs but essentially the "male" part of the tabs don't exist. We talked to the person with the garbage sack of them and he essentially said they are defective and they are going to try to get a refund from the manufacturer and were gathering the worst ones to send back as evidence (and when they were going through stock trying to find us one acceptable enough that we could glue it they had to throw out a lot just to find one OK one).

The good news is that he said they were so popular that they want to get good ones - but I don't know if there is enough time to right the wrong for this years Halloween since they are made in China (of course). Also if you look at them, at least ours, it looks like the handle is put on backwards - it has indents for the ears but they are facing the wrong way.

Many people were asking us about them on Monday and we were directing them to the two stands that had em so unless they found another shipment that were in better shape.... its not looking good. I hope they get some good ones because they are sooo cute.

Was thinking the same thing!

I might be able to pick them up....I live in Des Moines. But, it will depend on how big they are etc. I'm not sure I'd have room in my luggage. PM me closer to when I get down there....beg Oct.

Not true... I happily enjoyed caramel corn out of ours. Only one place though - the stand just outside soaring. We looked everywhere because neither my wife nor I like the plain butter.

Oh okay. Thanks. That's good to know :) I didn't go over to DCA. I just stayed in DL and not all the ODV's had them when I was there. :)

We must have gotten the 'good' one's on a fluke! I bought 2, my friend with me bought 1 and my SIL got one. None of ours are defective.

They really are cute! I hope they do have them available again for those who are looking for them. Mine will hold my disney memorabilia and small chotskys...

I checked the one I gave my mom and that one seems okay. I did notice that on one side it doesn't close all the way but other than that, it is fine. It's just mine that doesn't close at all and won't snap into the tab at the bottom (it is too short and doesn't reach it). I will try to exchange it if possible.

These are so adorable! I dont want to spend that much but my son does love their popcorn and so I might just have to pick one up if I see them on monday. Too cute! Thanks for sharing! :)

Make sure you don't wait until the last minute to get these. They had run out at most of the popcorn carts on Sunday. We stood in line on Main Street for 20 minutes to get one at 8:30pm.

Also, the CM told us they'll be having a similar type bucket at Christmas. Wouldn't tell us the shape, though.

Mickey Mouse Snowman!!! :santa: Oh...my jaw just dropped.... I love it.

Like I said before... got mine on Sunday around noon and I saw them in most popcorn carts. Can't believe they're so popular..well, actually I can believe it. Going to try to see if there are any left tonight. Wish me luck!
