We have AP's and although we visit Disney twice a year it is normally in September and May. This year we have decided to be there from Oct. 30 until Nov 14th. Just wondering when they change the theme of the parks from Halloween to Christmas. We are hoping to do MNSSHP and MVMCP as well as possibly seeing the Castle lit for the Holiday. Also wondering when the different Santas around World Showcase begin? Thanks for any help.

We usually go the first or second week of November and it's making the transition. I'd guess that MK would be all set up by Nov. 6th. Someone else might know exact dates.

You will definitely get to see the transformation happen while you are there, with much of Christmas decor up before you leave. Our 1st trip we went the same timing, from October 31st- Nov. 10th. It was amazing to see how seemingly overnight you go from seeing the Mickeyhead pumpkins on the lampposts on Main St. to the Mickeyhead Christmas wreaths ! By the end of the first week in Nov., MK is pretty done up for the start of the parties. The castle lighting usually starts a day or two before the parties, and Main St. will be all decked out. There is a lighting ceremony each nt. around 5:30-6:00. They also add a Christmas part to the castle projection show which is cool, so don't miss it! They have a small Christmas tree in the center as you walk in near the flagpole, which changes to a large tree in early Dec. for the parade taping I think.

Unfortunately, Osbourne Lts. are no more at DHS:sad:, which used to start by that time(unless they put them somewhere else - we can hope!). They will have started building the giant gingerbread house at GF, so you could probably stop and see what they have done so far, but it may not be finished. They make a chocolate carousel at BC, but not sure when that is completed. WL and AKL get decorated beautifully, but don't know if they start that early. As PP mentioned, WS activities and CP do not start till after Thanksgiving. We usually go a few days before Thanksgiving, and stay a few days after, and by that time we get to see most everything done, so not sure exactly when they are all up, but you will see a lot!
